"U.TV" by Owen O'Toole. Another major interest of Owen's, in addition to radio, was alternative, small-scale, public access TV. Alas, I don't have the letter that probably accompanied the VHS tape that this was on - or, rather, I don't have it with the tape - so I'm not quite sure what was going on. Michael Jackson stopped by the museum for an official visit (BAD era), and staff captured his time in the U-TV interactive television studio. Not terribly interesting, but he poses with museum director Ann Lewin, MediaWorks director Stan Woodward, video producer Jesse Vaughn, and others while a Fairlight operator plays with effects. For some reason, this tape was made into a loop, and repeats for quite a while. Weâll spare you the full effect. April 4th 1990. He gave us all LA Gear shoes, btw.
