This is to demonstrate focal point of a parabolic curve. Print all 4 parts, place the pin at the focal point of parabolic curve. Mount a laser module on the slider, then put the slider on the parabola. Place mirror tape on parabolic surface. Shine the laser and slide it. a dome made of 8 different size blocks and a top piece. you will need to make 16 of the 8 block section to make a complete dome. the column blocks stack but the column sections will need be glued or taped to each other to make it solid. or just to just glue the column sections to the top piece to keep it together.

Inspired by string art designs, where straight lines create curves, this box has a circular string art design embedded within a heart shape. The center is a small bowl with fitted lid, perfect for a few candy treats. I made these for my grandchildren for Valentine's Day.

Demonstration of conic sections. This model shows the hyperbola and parabola next to each other so that one physical piece actually has both sections demonstrated on it, on purpose; some other sets have them on opposite sides. Update: The previous version printed holes in which to insert a peg to hold the ellipse on top of the cone; this version prints the peg instead.

##Parametric OpenSCAD design This sculpture is made up of straight beams that are angled such that they intersect other beams on both the top and bottom edges. This model provides a physical demonstration of the focal point of a parabola using a 3D printer and is part of the Learning in a Makerspace chapter of my new book "[The Makerspace Workbench](http://shop.oreilly.com/product/0636920028147.do)" from Maker Media!. Simply line the surface with aluminum foil and pass a 1/8" dowel through the center. Aim the parabola at a light source and record the focal point on the dowel. Enjoy!

This is a megaphone / ear trumpet with a handle and peace signs. This was designed as to be used by people who wish to speak their mind. The curve is parabolic. All versions of the peace horn are 1.6mm thick, and print well with 0.8 walls. The large one is 399mm tall and just under 500g, the small one is 226mm tall, and under 250g, when done in PLA.
