Supersonic flow past a semi-infinite array of flat plate cascaded airfoils is analyzed using a linearized method of characteristics procedure. For a cascade having subsonic leading edge focus, but otherwise arbitrary geometry, frequency of blade oscillation, and interblade phase angle, pressure distributions and lift forces and moments are determined. These are used for flutter analysis and the determination of flutter boundaries. In addition, the linearized method of characteristics procedure...

Leadingedge asked me to kindly remix his other Fine Tune Adapters. So here they are. The threading is more coarse. Especially with more ridgid PETG makes it easy to assemble. I have chosen to make a wider threading, isometric M14x2, so that the threads are more coarse and so easier to print functionally. I fine tuned the threading even more manually, so that it has a little more play. Still the thread has enough friction to stay at the position it was dialed in for. The thread works for me out...

Accurate estimation of the aerodynamic stability derivatives of airplanes is essential to evaluate the performance of the aircraft, whether civilian or military. Theoretical prediction methods for the dynamic stability derivatives at high angles of attack have not advanced, and in the present paper, an attempt has been made to study the effect of damping derivatives for delta wings for different angles of incidence, and the Mach number for a wing whose leading edge is straight. In this paper,...

A 1/7-scale F/A-18 Hornet UAV was constructed for use in generic fighter high-angle-of-attack research. The aircraft, purchased as a kit, has been extensively modified to incorporate rudders and trailing edge flaps. In addition, an emergency parachute recovery system (EPRS) was installed for use in the event of departure from controlled flight, loss of radio signal, structural failure or any other anomally that would preclude a normal landing recovery. Parachute performance data and design...

This paper presents the results of an analytical study to account the effect of the sweep angle of a delta wing whose leading edges are curved on roll damping derivative at various angles of attack and the amplitude of the full sine waves. In the present theory, the effect of Leeward surface has been taken into consideration with the attached shock case at the leading edge. For a detached shock case, this theory will not be valid. Results have been obtained for the hypersonic flow of perfect...

This design is inspired by https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4929847 The downfalls of cghildreth's design: * I didn't dig the linear bearing. it made too much noise and had far too much play. a sleeve that can be replaced serves my purposes better. * No need for set screws its all press-fit. Yes, both components are Press-fit * I couldn't find the linked bearing for sale anymore Post-Process: Requires light sanding. inner sleeve bore should be drilled and reamed to 8mm and some change The...

A novel multiphase flow model is presented for describing the pyrolysis of biomass in a 'bubbling' fluidized bed reactor. The mixture of biomass and sand in a gaseous flow is conceptualized as a particulate phase composed of two classes interacting with the carrier gaseous flow. The solid biomass is composed of three initial species: cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin. From each of these initial species, two new solid species originate during pyrolysis: an 'active' species and a char, thus...

This study investigates the aerodynamic effects of modifying the leading edge on an unmanned combat air vehicle (UCAV) 1303. Literature suggests that leading edge accelerations are reduced for rounder leading edges and stall characteristics are altered. These phenomena are examined using the previously tested 1/72 scale model with a 47-degree leading edge sweep and a cranked trailing edge delta wing with fuselage. The study consists of both flow visualization and aerodynamic force and moment...

Loss measurements were conducted using a five-hole conical pneumatic probe in a subsonic wind tunnel containing a modeled cascade of controlled diffusion (CD) stator blades. Following reference measurements at high incidence one blade was modified (slotted at the leading edge) in an attempt to (passively) reduce the size of the leading edge separation bubble and thereby improve performance. Prior to the surveys, the acquisition and reduction software was modified to provide loss calculations...

This paper reports on an initial assessment of using a Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) computational device as a new tool for solving structural mechanics problems. A FPGA is an assemblage of binary gates arranged in logical blocks that are interconnected via software in a manner dependent on the algorithm being implemented and can be reprogrammed thousands of times per second. In effect, this creates a computer specialized for the problem that automatically exploits all the potential for...

I recommend you hot glue this on for the best strength. It will stay on without glue. Let me know how it works for you!

These are a few things we use here when building one of these fun little models. It includes a cover for the default sized component cut-out (with gaps for ESC, antenna and servo wires), a clip to hot-glue over the ESC/motor cables to help stop them snagging on landing and covers for the winglets to help protect them in case you clip a tree/bush as they are thin and the leading surfaces get damaged by branches easily. You can see all of these pieces in this video -...
