The process of being conformed into His image is to participate synergistically with Christ the same as a sailboat operates with the wind. It is both physically and spiritually possible for our minds to be transformed as we establish a partnership with the Spirit.

TTo plumb the depth of spiritual practices there are three aspects to explore: depth with self, depth with God, and depth with others. Contemplating these aspects is a true antidote to the face pace of our 21st century lifestyle. Spiritual practices allow the Kingdom of God to come in us and through us.

Stories become mirrors in which we can see truths about ourselves. On our spiritual journey, we start from a place of “no” because of our sinful nature, but if we allow Him, God’s grace will cause our “no” to become a “yes.” We must move beyond profession to practice, and beyond promise to performance. As believers we are called to live Christ-like not just act Christ-like … it is about a change of heart.

Scott Evans, Director of Youth Ministry for Southeast Ireland, speaks on the topic of sexuality in a culture laden with sexual promiscuity and an increasing notion that sex is "meaningless." Evans addresses the importance of having a faith-filled perspective of sexuality and purity in order to embrace the fullness of how God created us.

The apostle Paul taught us to communicate grace and peace. The blessing of grace references God treating us better than we deserve. The blessing of peace references God’s ability to pick-up the broken pieces of our lives and put them back together. As recipients of grace and peace, we are compelled to generously bless others with grace and peace.
Rice and Colon-Emeric provide the event with a final sending forth; a final time for participants to reflect on their time with Summer Institute and how to take their experiences back to their communities.

Chapel was hosted by the senior class of 2016 under the leadership of class president, Joe Mantarian. Four seniors were selected to share their Olivet story. They encouraged students to say yes to God’s plan, to not under estimate what can happen when you say yes to God’s plan, and to not be bound by fear because when God calls you He will provide everything you need to accomplish His plan. The collective wisdom and spiritual insight these four seniors shared was very telling that...

Sex is more of a spiritual act then a physical act. It is a gift to be discovered and enjoyed within the context of a convent marital relationship. A sexual relationship outside of marriage is either pre-adultery or adultery depending upon your marital status, and separates us from relationship with God.

Jesus gives us love and grace so we can share love and grace. The story in Luke reminds us of how Jesus viewed Zacchaeus compared to how the crowd viewed him. Jesus see us, He sees us as pure, and He sees us in the tree where we are hiding. Christ’s compassion for us is why we are to have compassion on others and see them in the trees where they are hiding both locally and globally.

The kingdom of God is a community of love, and creation is actually the overflow of God’s love. Authentically sharing our faith in love is not giving what we have to someone who does not have. It is more like inviting someone to share a sunset with you and enjoying it together.

The Lord will show us His ways, teach us His paths, and guide us in His truth if we just ask.
