We have a destiny in Christ, so God’s will is about more about who you are rather than what you do and where you go. He desires to mold and shape us and then point us in a direction. To achieve our destiny and leave a ripple effect on other people’s lives we have to: 1) Risk more; 2) Reflect More; 3) Do something with our lives that will live on past our lives. If we put our hands in the hand of the destiny maker, we will make a difference.

Learning what it means to be led by and listen to the spirit is like learning to walk, one step, one day at a time.

"Food has never failed us" has always been a saying in my family, joyfully announced every year at my childhood family Passover seder. What can eating teach us about spiritual life? We learn another teaching from R. Kook entitled "Spiritual Digestion" and I will discuss my struggles with internalizing spiritual meaning-what's worked and what hasn't! Come and listen for a couple minutes!

The way to deal with pain from our past is to face it, realizing that if God is for us, who can be against us. Forgive what or who brought the pain in the same way that Christ has forgiven us, not holding our sin against us. Forge ahead realizing it is a process. We leave behind what we have no control over, and press on. God desires to set us free from the pain from our past.

Humans are overcomers. Its what we do. We overcome obstacles, we overcome setbacks, we overcome adversity and we overcome even the most shameful things only to be better and greater than we were before. That is part of our humanity, but what we will learn today, from the words of Jesus is that overcoming is not just a function of work or tasks or planning or actions, but that there’s a spiritual overcoming that is inside of each of us and Jesus actually prays for each of us that we may have...

Peter models the perfect response that we as followers of Jesus Christ should have – “But because you say so, I will.” The story in Luke is not about catching fish, it is about catching Peter and his example of obedience. We say “yes” to Jesus because he has a God-view and knows so much more than we do. We say “yes” to Jesus because we love Him and want to please Him.
