The world is in darkness and lives in fear of light and being found out. Jesus came to step into our darkness in order to redeem us. He came to push back the darkness and set us free. He doesn’t turn his back to our darkness, but actually moves into our hurt, brokenness and pain.

Experiencing God in His glory and fullness fills us with His Spirit. The result of this experience is the ability to see and respond to the mission field and needs around us. We breathe in His Spirit and breathe out upon a world in need. God is looking for willing souls to see the lost and the marginalized and to share the good news of the Kingdom with them. The question is, “how will we respond?”

Tony and Chris discuss Pope Benedict's second encyclical Spe Salvi (In Hope We are Saved). The Holy Father in this letter called his flock to reflect upon the hope that we have as Christians because of Jesus our Lord. However, this hope must move beyond just a head knowledge or "informative" but it must show up in our actions thus becoming "performative". Therefore, if our hope in Christ is evident in our actions then it will be a light to the world to bring others to...

Tony and Chris begin a 3-Part "How To" Evangelization series. They focus on three requirements to successfully begin Evangelizing: Holiness, Prayer, and Authentic Joy. We cannot give what we do not have and prayer is required to develop an authentic relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. Once we truly seek holiness, it is our authentic joy which will become contagious and attract people to come to know Jesus.

Steve Robinson, pastor of Church of the King, found himself almost breathless from burnout. He led a fast-growing church through three building campaigns amidst Hurricane Katrina, the 2008 Financial Crisis, and the 2010 Gulf Oil Spill. In the wake of these challenging times, he found himself depleted spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Steve took a season to learn how to re-charge and re-focus his soul through establishing healthy, biblical patterns and life rhythms. Join Steve for this...

A transition will be one of the greatest tests of your leadership, but it will also serve as one of the greatest rewards and testimonies of your legacy. Successfully handing off the leadership baton to the next leader is essential to give our churches the best opportunity to thrive after our time of service. A smooth transition requires meticulous planning and forethought. https://www.arcchurches.com/wp-content/uploads/podcasts/healthy_senior_pastor_transitions.mp3

In our human condition we tend to chase after things that are not good for us. Our appetites – the things we crave – have been hijacked. We tend to crave what is not good for us, and don’t desire what is good for us. This obviously has a negative impact in many ways - especially spiritually. God can recalibrate our appetite so we hunger for the right things, and only then will we be we truly satisfied.

The story of Hagar’s plight reminds us that He knows our name … even when the world may try to objectify us in order to justify behavior. We serve a God that sees and a God that hears. As followers of Christ, we must guard against this behavior and seek to replicate our heavenly Father’s love and compassion for each individual person He brings along our path. He knows our name and the people we cross paths with have a name, too.
