On Saturday May 1, 2010 Duane Jackson was tending his vending stand at Times Square, when his attention was diverted to a parked vehicle displaying its flashers. A closer look revealed smoke and popping sounds coming from within. This observation and his subsequent notifying of authorities lead to the cordoning off and evacuation of the Times Square area and the discovery of one of this nation's potentially lethal terrorist bombing attempts.
