In Perturbative QCD (PQCD) approach we study the direct $CP$ violation in the pure annihilation decay process of $\bar{B}^0_{s}\rightarrow\pi^+\pi^-\pi^+\pi^-$ induced by the $\rho$ and $\omega$ double resonance effect. Generally, the $CP$ violation is small in the pure annihilation type decay process. However, we find that the $CP$ violation can be enhanced by double $\rho-\omega$ interference when the invariant masses of the $\pi^+\pi^-$ pairs are in the vicinity of the $\omega$ resonance....

We consider a multi-level aggregation problem in a weighted rooted tree, studied recently by Bienkowski et al. (2015). In this problem requests arrive over time at the nodes of the tree, and each request specifies a deadline. A request is served by sending it to the root before its deadline at a cost equal to the weight of the path from the node in which it resides to the root. However, requests from different nodes can be aggregated, and served together, so as to save on cost. The cost of...

The mass spectra of the $\phi\phi$ and $J/\psi\phi$ states in the decay $B^0_s\to J/\psi\phi\phi$ recently observed by LHCb are calculated in the model which takes into account the $J^P=0^+,0^-,2^+$ intermediate resonances $R_1$, $R_2$ in the $\phi\phi$ channel and the $J^P=1^+$ ones, $X_1$, $X_2$, in the $J/\psi\phi$ channel. When obtaining the expressions for the effective amplitudes and mass spectra, the approximate threshold kinematics of the decay is used essentially. The $R_1-R_2$ and...

On 08-01-2017, my computer took snapshots, every 7.1 seconds, of this very slow animation of 10 circles. These circles slowly rotate, and turn into a square, and then back to a circle. They all move at different speeds. They all have a different random colour. They all animate with a different animation timing function. And they are all blended with the so called difference blend mode, which makes each snapshot even more random.

The web has many possible appearances. This book is one of them. Every day Vasilis' server visits a website and generates one of these books with it. In this book you will find 100 blobs of a random shape and a random colour. The blob is placed on a striped background of two random colours. The width of the stripes and the width of the stroke of the blob are randomish as well. Just like the angle of the stripes. As long as Vasilis pays his hosting bill, a new book will be generated each day

Every day my server generates one of these books. In it you will find 100 random ratios. These ratios are based on one of the twelve excellent orthogons: The Quadrat, the Hemidiagon, the Trion, the Quadriagon, the Biauron, the Penton, the Diagon, the Bipenton, the Hemiolion, the Auron, the Hecton, and the Doppelquadrat. Every ratio on every page is generated at random. And all colours on every page are generated at random as well. This book was generated on 08-01-2017

Recent work of M.D. Johnston et al. has produced sufficient conditions on the structure of a chemical reaction network which guarantee that the corresponding discrete state space system exhibits an extinction event. The conditions consist of a series of systems of equalities and inequalities on the edges of a modified reaction network called a domination-expanded reaction network. In this paper, we present a computational implementation of these conditions written in Python and apply the...

We propose a unifying framework for generalising the Wasserstein-1 metric to a discrepancy measure between nonnegative measures of different mass. This generalization inherits the convexity and computational efficiency from the Wasserstein-1 metric, and it includes several previous approaches from the literature as special cases. For various specific instances of the generalized Wasserstein-1 metric we furthermore demonstrate their usefulness in applications by numerical experiments.

In this paper, we consider a Multi-User OFDMA network consisting of one Full-duplex base station, several uplink users, and a number of downlink users. A joint subcarrier, downlink user and uplink user mapping and power allocation optimization problem is investigated. In this paper, a new fractional derivative involving the normalized sinc function without singular kernel is proposed. The Laplace transform is used to find the analytical solution of the anomalous heat-diffusion problems. The comparative results between classical and fractional-order operators are presented. The results are significant in the analysis of one-dimensional anomalous heat-transfer problems.

Identification and alignment of three-dimensional folding of proteins may yield useful information about relationships too remote to be detected by conventional methods, such as sequence comparison, and may potentially lead to prediction of patterns and motifs in mutual structural fragments. With the exponential increase of structural proteomics data, the methods that scale with the rate of increase of data lose efficiency. Hence, new methods that reduce the computational expense of this...

Asset correlations play an important role in credit portfolio modelling. One possible data source for their estimation are default time series. This study investigates the systematic error that is made if the exposure pool underlying a default time series is assumed to be homogeneous when in reality it is not. We find that the asset correlation will always be underestimated if homogeneity with respect to the probability of default (PD) is wrongly assumed, and the error is the larger the more...

Effective file transfer between vehicles is fundamental to many emerging vehicular infotainment applications in the highway Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs), such as content distribution and social networking. However, due to fast mobility, the connection between vehicles tends to be short-lived and lossy, which makes intact file transfer extremely challenging. To tackle this problem, we presents a novel Cluster-based File Transfer (CFT) scheme for highway VANETs in this paper. With CFT, when...

We prove that the cardinality of the intersection of two compact exact Lagrangian submanifolds in a cotangent bundle is bounded from below by the dimension of the Hom space of the Guillermou's sheaf quantizations of the Lagrangians in Tamarkin's category. This gives a purely sheaf-theoretic new proof of a result of Nadler and Fukaya-Seidel-Smith, which asserts that the cardinality is at least the sum of the Betti numbers of the base space.

We give a complete classification of the Seifert manifolds with 3 exceptional fibers and two complementary legs which bound rational homology balls. Differential (Ore) type polynomials with "approximate" polynomial coefficients are introduced. These provide an effective notion of approximate differential operators, with a strong algebraic structure. We introduce the approximate Greatest Common Right Divisor Problem (GCRD) of differential polynomials, as a non-commutative generalization of the well-studied approximate GCD problem. Given two differential polynomials, we present an algorithm to find nearby differential polynomials...
