A periodic two-phase algebro-geometric solution of the focusing nonlinear Schr\"odinger equation is constructed in terms of elliptic Jacobi theta-functions. A dependence of this solution on the parameters of a spectral curve is investigated. An existence of a real smooth finite-gap solution of NLS equation with complex initial phase is proven. Degenerations of the constructed solution to one-phase traveling wave solution and solutions in the form of the plane waves are carried.

In this note we address some issues of recent interest, related to the asymptotic symmetry algebra of higher spin black holes in $sl(3,\mathbb{R})\times sl(3,\mathbb{R})$ Chern Simons (CS) formulation. We compute the fixed time Dirac bracket algebra that acts on two different phase spaces. Both of these spaces contain black holes as zero modes. The result for one of these phase spaces is explicitly shown to be isomorphic to $W^{(2)}_3\times W^{(2)}_3$ in first order perturbations.

This article is from Frontiers in Oncology , volume 4 . Abstract Treatment of oncologic disease has improved significantly in the last decades and in the future a vast majority of cancer types will continue to increase worldwide. As a result, many patients are confronted with primary liver cancers or metastatic liver disease. Surgery in liver malignancies has steeply improved and curative resections are applicable in wider settings, leading to a prolonged survival. Simultaneously,...

Herein, intervalley scattering is exploited to account for anomalous antiresonances in the infrared spectra of doped and disordered single layer graphene. We present infrared spectroscopy measurements of graphene grafted with iodophenyl moieties in both reflection microscopy and transmission configurations. Asymmetric transparency windows at energies corresponding to phonon modes near the {\Gamma} and K points are observed, in contrast to the featureless spectrum of pristine graphene. These...

This article is from PLoS ONE , volume 9 . Abstract In the past few decades, in the marine realm in particular, the use of molecular tools has led to the discovery of hidden taxonomic diversity, revealing complexes of sister species. A good example is the red algal genus Asparagopsis. The two species (A. armata and A. taxiformis) recognized in this genus have been introduced in many places around the world. Within the nominal species A. taxiformis, previous molecular analyses have uncovered...

Most research of online communication focuses on modes of communication that are either open (like forums, bulletin boards, Twitter, etc.) or direct (like e-mails). In this work, we study a dataset that has both types of communication channels. We relate our findings to theories of social organization and human dynamics. The data comprises 36,492 users of a movie discussion community. Our results show that there are differences in the way users communicate in the two channels that are reflected...

These predictions were experimentally confirmed by producing single...

We consider approval-based committee voting, i.e. the setting where each voter approves a subset of candidates, and these votes are then used to select a fixed-size set of winners (committee). We propose a natural axiom for this setting, which we call justified representation (JR). This axiom requires that if a large enough group of voters exhibits agreement by supporting the same candidate, then at least one voter in this group has an approved candidate in the winning committee. We show that...

An analysis of B0->D K*0 decays is presented, where D represents an admixture of D0 and D0b mesons reconstructed in four separate final states: K-pi+, pi-K+, K+K- and pi+pi-. The data sample corresponds to 3.0fb-1 of proton-proton collision, collected by the LHCb experiment. Measurements of several observables are performed, including CP asymmetries. The most precise determination is presented of rB(DK*0), the magnitude of the ratio of the amplitudes of the decay B0->D K+ pi- with a...

A recent line of work, starting with Beigman and Vohra (2006) and Zadimoghaddam and Roth (2012), has addressed the problem of {\em learning} a utility function from revealed preference data. The goal here is to make use of past data describing the purchases of a utility maximizing agent when faced with certain prices and budget constraints in order to produce a hypothesis function that can accurately forecast the {\em future} behavior of the agent. In this work we advance this line of work by...

Thermodynamic measurements of magnetic fluxes and I-V characteristics in SQUIDs offer promising paths to the characterization of topological superconducting phases. We consider the problem of macroscopic quantum tunneling in an rf-SQUID in a topological superconducting phase. We show that the topological order shifts the tunneling rates and quantum levels, both in the parity conserving and fluctuating cases. The latter case is argued to actually enhance the signatures in the slowly fluctuating...

Markov state models (MSMs) are a widely used method for approximating the eigenspectrum of the molecular dynamics propagator, yielding insight into the long-timescale statistical kinetics and slow dynamical modes of biomolecular systems. However, the lack of a unified theoretical framework for choosing between alternative models has hampered progress, especially for non-experts applying these methods to novel biological systems. Here, we consider cross-validation with a new objective function...

These stable phases consist of intriguing stacking of dumbbell patterned silicene layers having trigonal...

The two and one weight problems for multi(sub)linear strong fractional maximal operators are also studied; in particular, we derive necessary and sufficient conditions guaranteeing the trace type inequality for this operator. Previous attempts at RST-style discourse segmentation typically adopt features centered on a single token to predict whether to insert a boundary before that token. In contrast, we develop a discourse segmenter utilizing a set of pairing features, which are centered on a pair of adjacent tokens in the sentence, by equally taking into account the information from both tokens. Moreover, we propose a novel set of global features, which encode characteristics of the segmentation as a whole, once we...

This article is from PLoS ONE , volume 9 . Abstract Anti-idiotype antibodies have potential therapeutic applications in many fields, including autoimmune diseases. Herein we report the isolation and characterization of AIM2, an anti-idiotype antibody elicited in a mouse model upon expression of the celiac disease-specific autoantibody MB2.8 (directed against the main disease autoantigen type 2 transglutaminase, TG2). To characterize the interaction between the two antibodies, a 3D model of the...

Every day my webserver generates a new book, filled with 100 blobs of a random size, random shape and a random colour on a random coloured background. As long as this webserver exists, this library will keep on growing. This book was generated on 30-07-2014

Every day my webserver generates a new book, filled with blobs of a random colour that turn into rectangles in ten steps. The blobs might have a border, and this border, if it exists, is either black or white. The ten steps follow a certain ratio. This ratio is one of the twelve so called excellent orthogons: The Quadrat, the Hemidiagon, the Trion, the Quadriagon, the Biauron, the Penton, the Diagon, the Bipenton, the Hemiolion, the Auron, the Hecton, and the Doppelquadrat. This book was...

Every day my server generates one of these books. In it you will find 100 random ratios. These ratios are based on one of the twelve excellent orthogons: The Quadrat, the Hemidiagon, the Trion, the Quadriagon, the Biauron, the Penton, the Diagon, the Bipenton, the Hemiolion, the Auron, the Hecton, and the Doppelquadrat. Every ratio on every page is generated at random. And all colours on every page are generated at random as well. This book was generated on 30-07-2014
