north bay valleys, inland east bay valleys and while that dissipates by late morning, watch what shows up at atomic and into the afternoon. that's a deck of higher clouds coming in from the pacific so it's not can it be a perfectly blue sky day today. we will have high clouds that show up and just another way to look at the layers. related the visibility on the ground that we looked at the high clouds coming in afternoon, these are the mid- level clouds will be around for much of the morning. you can see how they are kind of filling in those inland valleys. you will wake up with more cloudiness over in the inland valleys, not necessarily has to be fog on the ground. there's the dissection of the clouds. okay. as far as daytime eyes, is going to mid to be upper 50s for most locations, a chance of rain shows up here. that's what it looks like on that satellite. on the few tickets which can read the rain and thus clouds and say, not coming here. or the one after that, or the series of lives. going for two north for us. the first on a monday, just clouds there for the morning hours on mond

inland valleys of the east bay, low and mid 60s. the numbers for north bay valleys also topping out, says 68 for clover day by the way. the seven-day forecast, we will see a pattern. more on the snow report in the next half hour. the seven-day forecast shows us temperatures holding the line. we are not going to budge for the next seven days. there is also no rain coming our way through likely the rest of january. it will be more blue sky and temperatures that stay where they are now not only through the weekend but also into much of next week. back to the matters at hand. gianna. >>> a bit of a tough drive if you are headed into san francisco. definitely give yourself a few extra minutes. you are looking at one of the cal trans cameras. lanes are still blocked due to a crash with injuries. at one point they had all lanes shut down and vehicles to the side of the road way. it is still slow as you head into the city. you might want to stick with 280 extension if you are heading into san francisco. we are seeing speeds down to about ei

inland valleys of east bay and north bay valleys. you see concord here on the regular image showing it is reporting fog at the airport. look at the temperatures. it's warm, mid 50s for just about everywhere. concord in the mid 40s. it's cold. that reading is down to 0.3 of a mile for concord. it will be cloudy but at least we won't have fog on the road unless you are inland east

same story here, for the inland valleys. tri-valley, diablo valley. that is all you guys pick up a nice warm up and in the bay, by tuesday morning, 50 degrees will be a morning low. of course it doesn't mean the daytime highs will warm up, just me too much of a very big spread between lows and highs by the time we get there because we will see more clouds come back. a small chance of rain. we will look at that next. daytime highs coming up into the low 50s. there's the next chance for rain. most of the storms for next week and there will be a series of them coming in the west coast, they're all going too far north to have a significant impact here but the monday rainmaker will bring us rain. so that is what it looks like going through the afternoon. light showers for the most part, not a lot to this but it is a chance of rain pretty much throughout the day on monday, lingering into tuesday morning, we still have a chance of rain into tuesday we can see the totals are not huge. that is just the first one. perhaps by the end of next week there's another

inland east bay and north bay valleys. you see from the camera, there is that low cloud bank over the skyline. i will show you where we have some trouble spots. we'll leave that view, as cool as that looks. everybody is in the mid 50s except concord. isn't that interesting? it's 46 in concord. concord you are one of the locations that has fog. that colder air and fog kind of going hand in hand. santa rosa 51. you've got it as well. it's 0.3 of a mile now for concord. the north bay, we are about a mile as well. and fairfield is down on the drive. patchy fog for the usual suspects. if we look above the fog and check the mid level clouds, it's gray everywhere. if we play it forward, we stay that way. gray skies, we never really get a break. it will stay this way until tomorrow's rain. there is rain coming home morning. today's daytime highs, low 60s for warmer spots in the south bay. mid 50s for inland valleys of the east bay, upper 50s about everywhere else. if we track the next opportunity for rain, you see it right there.

we'll climb to the mid 60s for warmer inland valleys. it is quiet now as we saw but all we have to do is look on the pacific where there is anything but. there is a train of storms ripping across the pacific. if we take the view from high def doppler and future it into futurecast, you see the rain. watch where they all go. the pattern in the atmosphere is set up to take the storms to pacific northwest even though they look good at our latitude when way out here, they get dragged to the north thanks to a nice ridge of high pressure and the storms don't have a chance to get here. not only through wednesday but let's take it to the longer range forecast and watch that pattern just continue going into next weekend. at that point the storms are even going into british columbia, want nothing to do with northern california. the rain stays up there for a while. we don't look for or expect any here in the near term or longterm. if we look at the six to ten day trend, the deeper you get in the shades, the higher the confidence. it's one thing to s

yeah, very cold and it's getting foggy and our inland valleys around lafayette pleasant hill and walnut creek. so the temperatures dropping into the 30s, you're gonna have to wait a little while to head on out. there's a look at live doppler 7 highlighting that big ridge of high pressure overhead and the cool dry air beneath allowing for the peninsula to see temperatures in the mid and upper 30s 37 santa rosa 35, san ramon. livermore is at 36 and san jose is 11 degrees colder this morning compared to yesterday. so a little bit milder and i shouldn't say milder but not as cold in the north bay three-quarter mile visibility in santa rosa, but look at concord in the last hour way down to just over a mile. so be careful out there. san francisco is lear and by nine o'clock. we're in the 40s with some of that fog by the afternoon. it's partly cloudy with mid and upper 50s returning that sun sets at 508 increasing clouds tonight and to start the work week. we've got a cloudy start. we'll detail that for you coming up liz. all right. thank you. lisa scenes like these are becoming all too common

and it's cold in the inland valleys and noticeably warmer in the bay. look at all of the 30s, whether we start in the north bay and go all of the way around the intire are areas. into the bay, the numbers are in the low to mid-40s. relatively comfortable start and there is some fog out there for farfold and we're tracking that. doesn't look like it's gotten worse the last 15 to 20 minutes but it's moderated up and down and has gotten worse and better at types and you can see two miles on the road and the rest of today is nothing but sunshine and that is 2:00 today. no clouds and we'll so low to mid-level clouds fill the bay in tomorrow morning and gets us to 7:00 a.m. on sunday. and clouds whyer in the classic situation where they fill in the interior bays and woke get into tomorrow night, meaning monday morning. and there might be a few clouds. day time highs, and upper 60s in the south bay. the mid-60s of the east bay and into the heart of the bay, it's the same story here. low 60s long the water for the north bay and into the interior valleys up nort

we did it today and we would do it again tomorrow and some of the inland valley's. if we switch from looking at the current and put on the lows tomorrow morning, livermore and san jose and fremont getting down to 39 degrees. we will likely develop fog again as we had a dense fog advisory in the north bay and it could just as easily be in the inland valleys tomorrow. this is about an hour after sunrise tomorrow and we are starting to fill in the tri- valley corridor that goes up 680 and you could wake up with some patchy fog tomorrow. it will likely be the northbay valleys again. so napa and santa rosa plan on fog. sunday will be just as pretty as today with blue skies mostly. there are still some storms in the pacific but they are just not getting directed here as much as they was in the month of december. there is the next one and you can see the pattern like the freeway of storms want to take it too far north. this is monday morning and if we going to get anything from the system it would have been there. the rain showed up and monday the clouds will increase but

we do have some spillover of central valley fog into our inland valleys. a couple of spots of fog forming up in the north bay, too. aside from this, though, not a lot to note as far as any hazards as you're getting outside this morning, the high pressure ridge continues to keep us mild continues to send in any chance of rainfall. well, to the north ahead of us for really our best chance of rainfall, this forecast was going to be tomorrow and even that it that that it was only a very slim opportunity for it. you can see those little spots of green that show up tomorrow and future cast not having enough steam to reach the bay. we will see an increase in cloud cover for your thursday, though, as a result of that system pushing through not going to do much else except for show a partly cloudy day for the day tomorrow, we're going to stay dry much as we have so far this week, all the way through the weekend long range forecast showing that to actually remain over the next 10 to 14 days. 50's and 60's for your highs near the coastline today and then temperatures

we're looking at above freezing even in those inland bay valley, so that's kind of to me. that's unusual to see. these are pretty mild temperatures for this time of year and those inland valleys overnight. so what's happening? surf advisories been dropped. the swell has dropped immensely. so you're not too dangerous out of the coast. still be careful and maybe some valley fog in the morning. and still waiting on the rain. i'll be back tonight at 10 11 and those models change every four hours or so. so hopefully something will change. all right. we'll check in with you then, bill. thank you. there's a new plan to make some of the most spectacular views in the sierra more accessible the plan for a 600 miles long trail along the lost sierra route would include lassen peak at the north end and the sierra buttes in sierra county as the southernmost point it would link 14 towns, creating easy access for hikers, equestrians and mountain bikers. the plan still does need approval from the u. s forest service. so far, a total of 114 miles of disconnected trails exist, but the finish

that number just kind of repeats bay area wide as we look across at inland valleys of east bay where numbers are identical to yesterday, maybe a degree or two below where we were. numbers in the mid section of the heart of the bay, mid 50s. far north bay topping out in line with where they've been, no real significant issues. the big picture shows us what's going on on the storm track. you see most well out in the pacific. we are keeping an eye on the storms which are developing for sure. they look really good. issue is they all keep getting pulled up and away from us. with no rain for the next several days we find ourselves locked with same stagnant air. that's why the sky is so hazy. center of high pressure blocking storms and we will see it continue to do that through next sunday. not this sunday. we are playing this through next sunday. the ridge blocking them is trapping in the air underneath it and holding it in. that's why things don't change. it will continue to look hazy. the snow report looks good, quite the base in the mountains. we are still looking at 100 inches or so at
