we will start with weather and traffic beginning with darren peck. all the fog doesn't look real. >>> i know. it looks down right beautiful, view from salesforce east looking east where you just see the tops of the bay bridge towers above a sea of fog tells us two things. it is a lot foggier in the heart of the bay and the fog has been compressed which means really what we have is the same mid level cloud we had yesterday that was not an issue. high pressure has taken the cloud and squashed it to the ground which is why we are living with it today. if you look at where the dense fog advisory is, you will see it is primarily focused on the entire bay area. we have a dense fog advisory exempt for inland valleys of the tri valley and through concord. readings have us to zero for petaluma, 0.3 for hayward, oakland, 0.3, san francisco, in general everybody will want a little extra time on the roads. daytime highs today, this is going away by late afternoon, and daytime highs will be warmer. it will be sunny and mid # 0s again today for most of the bay are

first we will check on our forecast with darren peck. sunshine, rain, a constant circle. >>> it will be both of those. the rain is tomorrow morning. the real headline for this morning is it's cloudy and foggy for some parts of the bay. inland east bay and north bay valleys waking up to patchy fog. it's also relatively warm in the mid 50s except concord where they're in the mid 40s. concord is one place where we are seeing visibility at the lowest, 0.3 of a mile. if you have to be on 101 north of the golden gate, plan on patchy fog there as well. clouds never really break today. it's going to stay gray pretty much all day. we only warm to the upper 50s which is about five or six degrees warmer than it is now, which isn't bad because it's a relatively warm start. there is rain tomorrow. if you look at the futurecast, that line of showers right there arrives just in time for tomorrow morning's commute. that is what we will focus on in the complete forecast in a few minutes. gianna. >>> it might be foggy as you head out as darren mentioned.

we still have darren with us. >>> happy to be with you again for another day. it's a day in which it's raining or about to rain. you can see the showers off the far northwest coast. all we have to do is come in for a closer look, switch to the futurecast and you will see that's about to work into the north bay. coming in right on time, we will see light rain across north bay between the 6:00, 9:00 time frame. that means morning commuters in north bay will feel this pretty much more than just about anywhere else. by the time we have gotten past 9:00 a.m. showers work south of the golden gate, start to fall apart as they do that. it's not necessarily terribly heavy rainfall but it's at least light rain until 2:00 or 3:00 in the afternoon. one other thing about this, if you look at the back edge, that's the end of the clouds which means we are going to get clearer skies by the time we get to the second half of the day. we only pick up about a tenth of an inch of rain. i will go into more detail on what to expect for the weekend coming up in the complete forecast i

we will start with a look outside at weather and traffic with darren peck. >>> good morning. it is a little foggier than it was yesterday in some places. or a better way of saying that is it's gotten foggy earlier than it did yesterday in the north bay. it looks as gloomy from the camera on treasure island. towards the city, you can barely make out the skyline. as we look at current conditions, it's concord that's the only place officially reporting fog. look how warm it is, mid 50s in some places, 56 in san jose. another way of saying that is it is four degrees shy of 60. it's got to be more comfortable than you have been used to. petaluma is down below a mile. it will probably stay that way through the morning. expect fog for most inland valleys. a few other current temperatures shows us more mid 50s. just like yesterday the clouds aren't going to break a lot. it will stay mostly cloudy gray and mostly daytime highs that manage to climb to the upper 50s. there is rain for tomorrow morning. we'll look at that in the complete forecast. let's check with gianna to see how the d

we will start with a look on our weather and traffic beginning with darren peck. we got a gorgeous weekend after a rough foggy week. >>> we did. today will be a stellar example of how to make up for all that. plenty sunshine and highs back to the low 60s. we are starting with clouds though which did a big favor in terms of the way it feels to start the day. if we look at the current numbers, nobody is in the 30s right now. i mean the coldest numbers i have are low 40s. that would be 42 for livermore and fairfield, mid 40s, 50 in the city, 47 in san jose. it's a warm start thanks to the clouds. if we look to where we are going today, it will be sunshine across the whole day. we'll go to mid 60s in general most locations and sun is coming up at 7:25. by 9:00 or 10:00 in the morning we should have relatively clear skies. we'll look at that in futurecast as well as looking ahead in the seven-day forecast in the complete forecast. how is the drive? >>> it is doing all right. if you are up early getting ready to head out, we've got a lot of green to show you which is go

we will start with darren peck joining us in studio. good morning. >>> good morning. we will watch light rain in the north bay and it will have an impact on the morning commute. it shouldn't be major but still don't be surprised really between 7:00 and 9:00 this morning. you see the rain on the high def doppler. those showers will march across mainly sonoma, marin, napa. it looks good on futurecast. that gets us through the heart of the commute. there is 6:30. here is 8:30, starting to get down to the golden gate. we notice light showers from the golden gate south after 8:00 or 9:00. so really after the heart of the commute. they won't be heavy by the time they have done that. late morning to early afternoon for the heart of the bay, city, peninsula, east bay, south bay, inland valleys of the east bay, you will get light rain. it just won't be enough. towards 2:00 look at the break in the sky. there is blue sky. that will be nice to see. we haven't seen much of that. daytime highs will go to the upper 50s. for now we are in the low 50s. how does the drive look? >>> th

darren has that. >> good morning. i have even fewer cameras i can show you right now because of the fog. the only few that are giving us anything to look at are the ones on the top of the mark hopkins hotel. anything higher is in the fog and anything that's looking at sky from below is looking at clouds. the view frthof the mark hopkins looks cloudy out there. livermore is reporting fog in the tri valley. we can see that when we look at the current. santa rosa reporting fog. remember the difference between having a midlevel cloud instead of actually having fog on the road and that's going to be the concern this morning as who are the trouble spots for fog in the temperatures are fine. if we look at the visibility the north bay has the issue. napa, visibility down to less than a mile. look at livermore. livermore and the tri valley included in it this morning. clouds and fog burn off by late morning and then it's a beautiful day. the low and mid-60s's. let's see how this is impacting the drive this early. gianna over t

darren peck starts us off with the forecast on this thursday. good morning. >>> good morning. i think we've got the drill down on these morning weather run downs at this point because nothing has changed so far this week. we are certainly locked in a pattern. here are the numbers. our coldest number is 41 in santa rosa where no surprise we are starting to develop patchy fog. if you look across the rest of the bay, it is still 50 in oakland. that's kind of nice. it's 47 in san jose. you can call that mild, if you are going to step outside. it feels good. daytime highs, mid 60s with maybe a few clouds. we probably will have a few high clouds. it will not be a gray blanket that as we approached afternoon yesterday we got over taken by clouds. we shouldn't see that but we will not see blue sky all the way. livermore 62. red wood city will hit that same number. vallejo is going to 61. we'll look at the weekend and go into the seven-day forecast coming up in a few minutes. for now, let's get updated on that drive. >>> it's looking busy. i just got new information from chp about the

let's get to your weather first along with traffic, start things off with darren peck. if feels slightly cooler than it did yesterday. we lost some of the higher clouds overnight. the temperatures have dropped a little more than where they were yesterday at this time. it's not too dramatic but it's colder. it's 41 in livermore. you are more closer to 43, 44 yesterday. it's 43 in oakland and fog. that's about five degrees colder than yesterday. san jose at 44. santa rosa almost always cold with fog it. is foggier in the north bay today than it was yesterday. that's probably the most important difference between monday morning and tuesday morning. the fog is back in the north bay. the visibility up there is down to three tenths of a mile in places and it's not only santa rosa. it's santa rosa, and napa. everybody else is doing okay. we don't see widespread issue was fog on the road for the rest of the bay. those north bay valleys and the rest of today looks good. daytime highs in the low to mid- 60s's. we will notice a few high clouds but you will get more blue sky for th
