michigan, most people thought michigan was going to lean in favor of clinton and there was a slight differential in favor of trial. nobody was close. new hampshire. margin of error. new mexico. we took a look at but we could not see it getting better than this. north carolina was closed. it turned out that it was going to go for trump and set off a wave of things on the east coast that were not good for the clinton campaign. ohio missed the mark. why? same thing about any of these polls. i complain about some of these polls being too democratic nationwide. some of the polls in ohio had too many democrats. democrats, too many you get an infield -- an inflated view for hillary clinton. pennsylvania was pretty close. virginia was pretty close. most of the states were pretty good. some of them were off the mark. the knock is, because of the predictive models out there, that the polling was off. here is something we have to look at. look at what i circled. johnson in the public polling is getting 4.8% in the four-way valid test. 2.3%stein is polling at and gets 1.1. you're looking at about 2.4% of th

>> let the people of michigan decide who their next congressman is. that's what we believe in the white house. at the same time congressman conyers was losing support among the leaders in the democratic party and his colleagues. nancy pelosi speaking with a forked tongue. these are allegations they took very seriously. he was losing support among many of his colleagues that previously said they would stand with him. now it's not up to john conyers, the congressman, to nominate his successor. he is endorsing his son. usually what happens in these states, you have to check michigan law. depending when the resignation comes, close to the mid-terms, you have the governor of that state appointing a successor, sometimes a special election. we'll have to look at michigan long. people will have to decide who they want to represent them. conservatives in the house last night a little hiccup. will they get in the way? >> they've been wonderful. the president has a healthy relationship with all of the republicans in the house and senate. at one time or another.

is this going took win for michigan? are companies planning to trickle down the tax savings down to employees? >> well, we have to see, in the auto industry, contracts have been negotiated the next couple of years. they do give out bonuses to the salary -- to hourly employees. we'll see what happens next year. i think in michigan, people the workers the working men and women, remember, i'm someone who predicted that donald trump could win michigan and could win this election, because he was talking about issues that mattered to working men and women, but a year later, those working men and women are still worried about those same issues. they're worried about trade deals that have shipped their jobs overseas. they don't see the jobs coming home. this tax bill gives incentives for people to continue to locate jobs and put hours overseas, not bring it home. there are workers in michigan very worried about their pensions, their pensions are threatened to be cut. they are no longer sure of a safe environment and for many of

michigan and ohio -- michigan and ohio were too close to call. it could be enough to tilt ohio and michigan to trump and put pennsylvania in play. by this time, ohio is looking like a trump state. but here, it is looking more like a tossup. michigan and pennsylvania were looking closer. it also shows that clinton enjoys a one-point lead in florida. most of the polls in florida were close. the public polling was pretty good there. yes, because, it does matter who turns out. now, this is a look at the map as it finally ended up. with 232 electoral votes for clinton. some don't like the look of that map. let us make it a cartogram and make -- and allow the states to keep the color they are but base it on the size of the state. that looks more balanced. if you don't like that, you can go to different shades of red and blue. not everything is really read or really blue. there are purple counties through that county. if you apply that to the cartogram, that is your nation. how trump won. quickly, to talk about this, a lot of things were said after the

weird kansas court would cite their case and the michigan case at time.ame here's the thing. we won't know all the cases as they go forward. cases don't go into a appellate situation where it's published. a lot of people, who knows who giving pressured into up -- based on the legislation that's been passed in their they will never talk about out loud. it will be many years before we get a landscape of what's going but what's happening is that some judges are looking at anti-sharia legislation with a stereotype of hat sharia is, that it somehow is fundamentally bad for women. that's the underlying, one of he many underlying messages of sharia in the country, that picks -- here's the question i there ret tal question. if there is any aspect of a legal system that's bad for omen does that mean you don't accommodate any part of that legal system? i submit that would be the case for u.s. law, right? accommodate any aspect of it and the kinds of things they are denying are which are better for women than if she were toned up with a community property arrangement, right? community p

and at the moment -- and in michigan, i should add, we have 260 sites all across michigan serving 681,000 people. and again, almost 13,000 michigan veterans use our community health centers. we have bipartisan support to continue l funding, but the funding ended september 30. so what happens? well, starting in january, michigan's community health centers will lose $12.8 million in funding because about 70% of the funding for health centers comes through the legislation that we are now offering with bipartisan support. about 20,000 people will lose their health care. by june michigan's health centers will lose over $80 million until funding and over over99,000 patients, almost 100,000 patients will lose health care. so this is critically important as well. we're talking about 25 million people across the country. this is something we've come together on in a bipartisan basis over the years. community health centers and the children's health program. there has to be a sense of urgency about this. we cannot leave at christmas, can't leave for the holidays without having guaranteed that child

roads in michigan and beyond. we are still waiting. middle-class families are still waiting. when i think about the new deficit they are willing to create, $1.5 trillion, to give huge tax breaks to the wealthiest americans very if they want to take that deficit, you could create 22 million jobs, middle-class jobs. rebuilding america. they promised they would end outsourcing and crackdown on places like china. i remember him telling people in hehigan they were go -- created new business opportunities for himself and his family in china. but people in michigan and across the country are still waiting. we lost 5 million jobs. people are waiting. he has yet to do what he promised us. when we are talking about shipping jobs overseas, this tax bill creates a new $4 billion loophole for oil companies that was not there before. but they would not even take home my act. but somehow the republicans were ok with closing a loophole that set of somebody wants to move to michigan for a new job, they cannot write off their move.

michigan is home to over 850,000 small businesses, and a growing number of startups. the new ideas and creative solutions they generate put america on the cutting-edge of a global and interconnected economy. michigan small businesses are able to compete and innovate because of a free and open structure of the internet but unfortunately these opportunities are at risk. tomorrow the fcc will vote to eliminate current net neutrality protections that stop large corporations from stifling small businesses and harming the american people. i think the facts are very straightforward. andst the fcc is wrong. they should stop what they are doing and keep the current protections in place. the current rules that i have consistently supported prevent internet serviceve providers frm blocking, slowing, or prioritizing web traffic for their own financial gain at the expense of small businesses and everyday internet users. the fcc's actions to roll back these protections could usher in a new era of a two-tiered internet. one for the large corporations that can pay for the fast lane,
