appalachian power says.. it's wise to have an emergency kit ready. also -- if you just stocked up on groceries and you lose power.. consider this.. most meat and dairy products need to be tossed out if they've been sitting above 41 degrees for more than 2 hours. a-e-p says it's important that you report your outage also, turn off your major appliances -- to prevent circuits from overloading. and make sure your cell phones are charged. 3pattie tight over on the southside -- danville police are reporting very slick roads as well.. we've learned that police have responded to 7 crashes just since 1:30 this morning. and right now extreme caution if you have to be on the roads. and as you can see with a live look at our vdot cameras -- not many people out right now. crews in danville are working sand the residential streets. they say.. it takes about 24 to 36 hours. remember- since residential streets were not pre-treated.. they won't get plowed down to the pavement. 3 3whit and if you're wondering this morning whether or not your child is out of school..
