we expected 1 to 2 inches in southern maryland. a coating to an inch in the beltway and take a look at these snowfall totals. hollywood, maryland, st. mary's county, we got 1.5 inches. lusby, maryland in calvert county,.7 inches. 1.3 inches in culpeper. we had a report of about an inch in stafford. an inch in opal and reagan national picked up two-tenths of an inch of snow. on satellite and radar, you can see the system pulling away now. it's a fairly weak system but we did see the snow from it. and now it is pulling away. so this is what you need to know moving forward. as we head into the evening commute, it's going to be dry but cold. maybe just a few flurries still lingering. partial clearing tonight. it will be blustery. we'll see the winds pick up just a little bit and refreezing is highly likely on any untreated surfaces. in fact, just about everything is going to freeze unless it has a good coating of salt or some other kind of deicing agent on it. so stepping out the door tomorrow morning might be a little treacherous as w

there are some models that bring a little more snow to southern maryland. in and around the metro widespread one to maybe two inches primarily on the grass coming during the daytime. it can keep the pavement warm and have the chemicals down as well. may not be as impactful. another chance for a mix on saturday and another one on monday. back to you. >> thank you, chuck. >>> breaking news in boston, aaron gilchrist is at the live desk for us. >> we're getting confirmation from the boston police department and the hospital that there has been a shooting inside brigham and williams hospital. we are looking at live pictures from our affiliate. there was a shooting within the last half hour inside the hospital. police say they have one suspect in custody and that one person was shot in this incident at the hospital. obviously, they have closed off an area surrounding the hospital. the hospital itself tweeting that it's had its entire staff remain shelter in place stay in whatever area of the hospital they are in. the police department says this is under control.
