and the man was driving the driver of the vehicle that hit the man in the wheelchair was coming from octavia toward 101. he hit the man in the crosswalk and his wheelchair knocked on to 101 and the victim also knocked on to 101 as well. here's video of the scene as san francisco police department investigators photograph the wreckage. that is around 3:00 this morning. police say the man crossing in the wheelchair died at the hospital shortly after he was hit around midnight. you can see it took several officers to load the custom wheelchair into a police truck. they have not released any other details about the victim. the driver of the car stayed on scene. i spoke with him briefly but he did not want to be interviewed on camera. from what i saw he appeared to be wearing a security guard jacket but seemed -- seemed shaken but coherent. we spoke with commuters and they are not surprised someone was killed at this intersection. >> even bicyclists run the red lights you know. it is a busy intersection. >> reporter: investigators close the onramp for nearly four hours this morning. we wa
