i'm sure new ones will come. one thing i hope this is not so far off topic but if you'll forgive me, the constitutional bill of rights are not everything. they are like i said the basic foundational protections that people have a way of congress and you have state legislatures and many levels of government which will pass more protections. they can go beyond what the constitution requires and people should ours remember that that's part of our constitutional structure as well. sometimes when they go beyond one direction it raises problems in the other. to the extent people have concerns about how their college is being run of course the constitution and the bill of rights may draw only from the most basic foundational set of lines. students have voices, parents pay tuition and have voices and taxpayers have voices so it's a larger conversation. >> obviously we can't comment on any particular dispute but i will say this. the freedom of speech is discomforting. the idea behind freedom of speech is that each person

we are hopeful we can continue the efforts we have begun and, with a new administration, new department of justice, we can continue moving forward in this area. it's an area where it is more than bipartisanship, it's to the common benefit for every citizen in every city, county, state. there's a federal importance to this whole question of policing strategies and what should be done about it. i'm impressed with the fact that we still have a number of things that must be done. years ago, i had a bill, the patterns and practices act. it became to be a useful way for the federal government to intervene in what would normally be considered a local matter. where there are certain activities or even, sometimes, particular law enforcement individuals or activists who are anti-law enforcement, who would be warranted to be visited by federal intervention. it has been used selectively. i have not found it to be criticized overly. it makes for the discussions and the context and the interchanges necessary to build up this level of trust that is so important in terms of how we proceed in building u
