we're joined by chuck todd and savannah guthrie, joining super tuesday coverage in primetime. chuck, i'm always curious what you're going to be watching tonight. >> let me start with the republican super tuesday map here. there's really four states i'm watching. early on it's going to be virginia. it should be a competitive race tonight. can marco rubio do well with the most-informed electorate in the country? then arrange, oklahoma, texas. ted cruz has to do well. if there are going to be places cruz and rubio can beat trump it is in these four states. that's why i think they matter the most. let's move on the democratic side of the super tuesday map. it's slightly different. there's basically a north-south strategy. in the south it's about hillary clinton, she expects to do well, minority voters. where sanders hopes to have states, fewer minority voters, we'll see. i think the targeting, he may have missed opportunities in a couple of southern states. we have learned a couple of things from the exit polls. experience versus outsider. what's interesting on the republican nigh

we want to bring in our political director, the moderator of "meet the press," chuck todd. what just happened here? >> i can tell you this, the other republican campaigns who want to stop trump are a little disappointed that mitt romney didn't offer a solution. they fear his resolution is raising his hand and say, hey, i'm available in case of an emergency. nomination away. if he loses both florida and ohio march 15th, chances are we're heading to the contested convention. rye now, trump leads in the delegates, as katy said, a little less than a hundred. so far, trump has won about 45% of all the delegates available. let's assume trump can win that same 45% in the 14 contests ohio. well that means he's really got to do well in florida and ohio. florida and ohio, this is what delegate totals look like. nearly 300 delegate lead over cruz. he only needs to win 50% of remaining delegates to be the nominee. without rubio and drop out, that wouldn't be the case. but if he loses both, florida and ohio to kasich and rubio, then suddenly you have a jumbled mess. everybody stays in,
