clinton was leading bernie sanders by 25 points. that is if the polls are to be believed, that lead has since evaporated. so she came out of new hampshire with a resounding loss. she needs a substantial margin of victory here. and based on what you just recorded with some of the exit polling that we have, at least right now, looks like perhaps that the polling showing them running even might be accurate. if she doesn't deliver a substantial margin of victory here, then going into south carolina where she does have a substantial lead, at least the moment it might damage her going into that state, showing that her weaknesses and vulnerabilities are in fact real. >> we shall see. now democrats south carolina week from today. doug, what are you watching in nevada? >> well, i looked at the same entrance polls that i think you and martha and monica did. . looks to me like hillary clinton, potentially has a very, very slight advantage, though it's too close to call. my take is different than month kas. if hillary clinton even ekes out a na

given the fact that bernie sanders' numbers are so high. it's a neighboring state with his hope state of vermont. a significant number of african-american voters and latino voters in south carolina will be where the rubber meets the road and will be the true test of bernie sanders in this race. on the republican side, will we see on a republican side something the democrats saw in 1992. will the young candidate, the one that get out, the young people perhaps, the marco rubio. even if he doesn't win, dose carry that momentum through to new hampshire and change the narrative. jon: what are the prospects that two polar opposites that bernie sanders and donald trump could come in winners for both parties. fascinating process and it could happen. jenna: it' a busy day in iowa. i wanted to show you this live shot. chris christie holding a town hall at drake university. mike emanuel is there covering the event. we are going to be talking to brad about what he learned from chris christie who has been making moves in iowa and some say new hampshire

what is bernie sanders delegate strategy? >> let's understand, the delegate -- how the delegates are portioned in the democratic party. in the primaries and caucuses, they are not like the republicans. there are no winner take all contests. they're all straight proportional contests, which means that when you have some two candidates head to head, this race will go on for a long time. the lead that right now that bernie sanders is facing are the uphill struggle, is because of the super delegates in the democratic party. one fifth of the party officials and establishment party members in other were given free seats to the convention who can do what they want and they have really put a thumb on this election and in that case, we will see it i think develop more and more as an issue. but bernie sanders' strategy is to keep running and doing well. this is going to be a tough -- i just voted today, south carolina is not going to have i think a record turnout in this democratic primary. but we're going on super tuesday. hillary cli
