light snow leesburg. it will not amount to a whole lot. the snow will fall over about 3 4 hours. at that it will be about an inch or so. as it lifts off towards the north and east, the skies begin to clear by late in the afternoon. that will give us a better chance of sunshine later tomorrow. that sunshine will return a good portion of the upcoming week. by the time we reach the weekend, temperatures near 50 degrees. in terms of the projected snowfall totals, keep in mind this is just possible. a traced to possibly an inch in d.c., fairfax, alexandria. the further south and east, southern maryland may have a mixture of sleet and snow, potentially 1 5oto 2 inches, but i think the two inches may be optimistic. to the north, just a few flurries of that. if you are looking for school cancellations, at this point i don't think it is a good bet. 7:00 in the morning, 21 degrees snow, wintry mix. that will began to taper off by noontime. for clock, peaks of sunshine the temperature near 32. lower 40's friday. saturday, middle 40's near 50 degrees. not a bad extended holiday weekend. jacq
