until then live in leesburg jeff goldberg, abc 7 news. >> jeff thank you very much. let's go now from northern virginia to maryland where chris has been driving around in mobile track 7 checking out the roads there and he joins us now. what are you seeing chris? >> well alison much like what jeff said the news for drivers right now is pretty good. you can see we're traveling about 60 65 miles an hour here on route 270 heading north through maryland. there isn't any snow. doesn't appear to be any ice on the roads right now. traffic is moving really well. if you look on the side this is the type of snow that is a little bit heavier, a little bit wet and makes for very pretty driving. trees are covered in this type of snow. since it's not on the roads, you can appreciate it a little bit more. now, we are heading towards frederick. we hear that there are some roads in frederick that did get a little bit more snow on them. perhaps, didn't get as well driven as this one. a little bit warmer to melt that snow. so once we get there, we'll let you know what we see. also, as w

live in leesburg jeff goldberg abc 7 news. >> thank you. of course the stormwatch weather team is continuing to track conditions as the weather system moves out and another potentially more powerful one begins to take shape. chief meteorologist doug hill breaks down the timing of the next winter weather threat in a few minutes. leon? >> we go to breaking news coming out of annapolis where crews have recovered two bodies with the charred remains. this comes hours after news chopper 7 captured these images of the search crews of the investigators getting their first look inside the ruins. stephen tschida is live in an annapolis to tell us what he just learned there. what's the latest? >> i went back into the fire station and spoke with the captain russ davies just seven minutes ago. he was a bit more forthcoming one-on-one than he was during the news conference. we now know that those two bodies which were found today were discovered in the basement of this massive home but he did qualify that by saying the fire was so intense that the house

our team coverage continues now in leesburg rich how does it look out there? >> leon the snow definitely picking up now. we just want to show you we're right off edward's ferry road off route 50. i want to show you some of the grass to give you an idea not too bad. it's sticking on grass. when we look over the road over here edward's ferry road not a big deal yet. wet surfaces but vdot says it is ready. now, today we did visit a vdot facility off of route 7. they say they have between 650 and 700 trucks with salt and sand. add midnight they'll have about 1,000 trucks ready to go. and the district says it has about 200 snow plows that will be in service by 8:00 p.m. and in maryland about 2400 pieces of snow equipment statewide. most of the major thoroughfares around this area at least have been pretreated to deal with anything hopefully to keep this snow from sticking. loudoun, though expected to be one those hard hit areas especially when you get into those higher elevations towards the blue ridge. >> it's kind of a crap chute for us. at the same time we'll be

temperatures in the middle 20's leesburg and manassas. many are back to work early tomorrow morning. i don't see any problems for the rush hour commute. futurecast looks like. this 7:00 tomorrow night, clouds will begin to increase from the west. with these clouds we'll eventually see some showers and could see some sleet early saturday morning. best news of all, temperatures will quickly rise above freezing. we'll see all rain as we move through the mid morning hours. by late afternoon, we could be looking at a heavier band of showers or rain well to the north of us and then as we move into the nighttime hours saturday and early sunday morning, lull in the action but two things are going to happen. two areas of energy. one to the south and west of us. this right here and another one well to the north. this will move our way and this is what's going to push a lot of warm air across the mid atlantic. we're talking temperatures on sunday in the lower 60's with that cold front late sunday night, that's going to drop us back down into the 30'
