i'm amy goodman with nermeen shaikh. >> welcome to all our listeners and viewers from around the country and around the world. outrage is growing in the detroit area over the killing of her nation mcbride, a 19-year- old african-american woman. in the early hours of november second, mcbride was shot dead on the front porch of a man's home or she had reportedly gone to seek help after a car crash. on tuesday, local media aired audio of a dearborn heights police dispatcher who simply stood best to get the shooting after the homeowner called 911 to say he had shot an african- american woman he did no one is porch. >> units responding. we have the male on the line, saying he doesn't know this person. trying to get further. quick somebody down on the porch. it appears to be a black female. >> copy. like female. >> the homeowner told police he believed renisha mcbride was trying to break into his home, but he claimed his gun accidentally fired at her. the homeowner, who is white, has not been arrested. and not tops revealed mc

i'm amy goodman with juan gonzalez. >> welcome to all our listeners and viewers from around the country and around the world. a year ago yesterday, on november 6, 2012, tens of millions of americans went to the polls to reelect president obama. on that same day -- thousands of miles away -- a 39-year-old afghan farmer named mohammed qasim disappeared after being arrested by u.s. special forces. he was never heard from again. months later and afghan shepherd saw feral dog digging a human remains now believed to be the farmer's. his decaying body was found just outside a base used by a team of u.s. special forces known as the a-team. the body was found just weeks after u.s. special forces were compelled by the afghan government to leave the base and it will occasions of torture and murder. more and more bodies were soon found just outside the base located in wardak province. in total, afghan officials say they have uncovered the bodies of 10 afghan man, all of whom disappeared after being arrested by u.s. special forces.

and i had never heard of this woman called amy goodman, and i heard her one day on the radio, and she's taking on newt gingrich, the speaker or of the house, and taking on rebels this the congo and talking about social justice struggles in the united states, on immigration issues, and i said i want to be a part of that. some of the young folks who might be familiar with the terms i'm about to use, but i used a pen and what was called paper, and i wrote her something we used to call a letter and put it inside of what's called an envelope, and i licked this thing called a stamp -- anyway,. [laughter] i want to do anything for you if i can. if you have a dog, i'll walk your dog or feed your camp. and then i started going to events. she never responded. i was stalk her, basically, not in a creepy way, and i think she had to decide whether to get a restraining order or let me volunteer. so she let me volunteer, and i learned journalism as a trade. real reporters would ask me to help them edit their pieces, so i learned by p watching journalists who i really admired engage in the trade. and o
