leesburg lower 40s. maybe 43 in reston and mcclain. 40 in andrews, maybe 45 as you get in to charles county and southern maryland. and the temperatures are still pretty uniform. 34 in annapolis without any wind to speak of. so there is not a small craft advisory. now we'll break it down, these are city temps. 32 to start. you'll be in the 20s to start. 34 at 9:00. and 42 with the sunshine at 1:00 p.m. okay, so on saturday, yellow alert, no surprise there, mainly rain with a little bit of snow and the polar plunge fest that will be so cold and miserable. but a good cause. 40 for the high. 44 and pleasant on sunday. but then the clouds are return. next seven days. the reason why the clouds were returning on sunday is because of a clipper approaching our area from snow showers possible on monday. i'm not sold on the track of this just yet that they might dive up to the north. but in the wake of the clipper, much colder on tuesday and wednesday lower 30s. sunshine next thursday and back in the mid-40s. >>> t

leesburg right now, coming in with fog about a third of a mile visibility. we'll continue to watch out for that. same deal goes for areas around kul culpepper. tomorrow morning, you could see dense fog. we've got a lot of travel issues early in the morning and that's why i think you should leave early. tomorrow is fine. thursday is good. friday most of the day is going to be okay. we'll see cloud cover around the area. here comes our storm on friday night. and i do think it will start off as rain for most of the area but also a mix back to the north and west. take the umbrella if you have a hot date on friday night. down to the south, there's the rain. look at the mixture on saturday morning. snow to the west and a mix around the d.c. metro area. this will be some accumulating snowfall and parts of the region most likely to the north and west of d.c. but i still think d.c. will see accumulating snowfall during the day on saturday and then again late sunday into monday as we have yet another storm system that comes in. that brings in the arctic air again and

mola lenghi joins us live now from leesburg with a look at conditions there. >> reporter: it's been coming down a couple hours now, nothing really sticking, just at this point creating very wet conditions. virginia d.o.t. deployed hundreds of crews there out on the roadways now. you see the silo behind me. that's where those trucks are coming sort of in waves, coming to not only refuel, but to reload on salt. right now they're out on the roads. they're currently at a low level deployment. vdot tells me -- ddot tells me they are ready to step up deployment through the night. they have hundreds of pieces of equipment on stand-by ready to go as d.o.t. monitors the conditions all night long. what's the biggest challenge when you got a night like this? >> not knowing whether you're going to get the ice or the snow. ice is much more treacherous, harder to treat, but again we pretreated today throughout northern virginia and that will be a big help. so we'll start shooting the chemicals as soon as we need to. >> reporter: virginia d.o.t. is confident the roads will be treated and good to go, but
