Abstract
•We validate a novel operant model of compulsive checking, relevant to OCD.•The dopamine D2/3 receptor agonist quinpirole selectively increases checking.•Uncertainty increases checking differently following quinpirole treatment.•Dopamine D2/3 receptors modulate excessive, non-functional checking.•OCD checking may respond to treatment augmentation with D2/3 receptor antagonists.
