Cells Tissues Organs is an active peer-reviewed scientific journal published monthly by Karger-Verlag. Founded in 1945 by R. Chambers, G. Glimstedt, T. Peterfi and G. Wolf-Heidegge as Acta Anatomica, it acquired its current name in 1999 and publishes research on all aspects pertinent to the formation and transformation of biological structure.

Each issue features original research and review articles covering experimental and theoretical investigations from the fields of developmental and cell biology, as well as bridging the gap between these and the emerging fields of regenerative medicine, including stem cell biology, tissue engineering, artificial organs, in vitro systems, and transplantation biology. It also contains commentary, methods articles, and editorials, along with reports and abstracts of relevant meetings, and systematic reviews of literature focused on a research question. Occasional special-focus issues are dedicated to a particular topic of interest. 

The Internet Archive Collection contains microfilm published between 1966 and 1974.
