Our Quick Daily Devotion this morning comes from 2 Chronicles 20:18-20 NKJV Summary: Believe & obey while praising Him with a loud voice! 18 And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem bowed before the Lord, worshiping the Lord. 19 Then the Levites of the children of the Kohathites and of the children of the Korahites stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with voices loud and high. 20 So they rose early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.” Questions & Challenge: 1. Do you believe in God and will you trust his Word? 2. Are we willing to trust and obey? Trust and obey for there is no other way. Notice they took action and rose early in the morning and confronted their major obstacle with praise and singing. 3. In what areas do you simply need to believe God and take action? I think this song Trust & Obey by John H. Sammis really sums it all up. Trust & Obey lyrics 1 When we walk with the Lord in the light of his word, what a glory he sheds on our way! While we do his good will, he abides with us still, and with all who will trust and obey. Refrain: Trust and obey, for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey. 2 Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share, but our toil he doth richly repay; not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross, but is blest if we trust and obey. [Refrain] 3 But we never can prove the delights of his love until all on the altar we lay; for the favor he shows, for the joy he bestows, are for them who will trust and obey. [Refrain] 4 Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at his feet, or we’ll walk by his side in the way; what he says we will do, where he sends we will go; never fear, only trust and obey. [Refrain]
