What is a gang? In the next hour, Bob Florez, M.A., Youth Advocate, Program Developer and Counselor will offer deep insight into the world of gangs. Are there differences between street gangs and prison gangs? Do gangs even serve a purpose? We will talk about a brief history of gangs, how are gangs defined, the impetus and role of the gang lifestyle. We will also discuss the factors involved toward gang involvement. “Pull” factors that entice, and “Push” factors that push youth towards gangs. What are gang crimes? Is there a structure to gangs? This sibject is relevant and vital for us all to pay close attention to if we want to offer a safer world and future to our youth.
