Lotus SmartSuite for OS/2 1.1 and 2.0
Quick History Lesson
Lotus graphical productivity applications for OS/2 had three different release eras:
- The "/G" generation. Originally released around 1990, these were the first graphical applications by Lotus that ran on OS/2 Presentation Manager 1.x (1988-1990). This included Lotus 1-2-3/G and Freelance Graphics/G.
- The "Suite" generation. The next generation (this archive) was the first batch of applications that were released as SmartSuite and required OS/2 2.1 or higher. Lotus 1-2-3 and Freelance Graphics were still based on the "/G" generation of code and were packaged with the Ami Pro word processor. All the major office application vendors began bundling their products together in suites such as Microsoft Office, Lotus SmartSuite, and Borland Office (with WordPerfect). These suites were available on Windows and Macs. Lotus was the only company that offered an entire suite on OS/2 in one package.
- The "Warp" generation. Lotus rewrote their SmartSuite applications when IBM released the OS/2 Warp edition. These SmartSuite applications were much closer to their Windows counterparts. The SmarSuite version numbers reverted back to 1.x series. SmartSuite 1.7 for OS/2 Warp was the last version released for OS/2.
Lotus released at least three versions of Lotus SmartSuite for OS/2 in the early 1990's: 1.0, 1.1, and 2.0. The applications included in each SmartSuite release were identical or nearly identical. The original Lotus SmartSuite version 1.0 can be found in another archive by clicking on this

Installation Notes:
- All disks were tested using OS/2 Warp 4.52.
- If during the Ami Pro installation you receive a warning about not being able to install Amistop.exe, click Ignore. The installation will complete and Ami Pro will launch
- Each folder has scans of the original floppy disks. You'll notice that SmartSuite 2.0 applications may have a 1995 copyright on the first disk. Other than that, the applications with the same version number seem identical.
