Formed in 1990 by Frank and David Hildebrand, CYNTHIA JANE is modern, heavy rock, influenced primarily by British bands of the 70's and 80's. With the Hildebrand brothers as principal songwriters, arrangers, and producers, CYNTHIA JANE has developed a style that, to many, is familiar yet unusual.
The band followed the typical road, making demos, playing clubs, and pestering record companies for a recording deal. While opinions of the band's music were continually positive, their commercial value was often questioned. Their sound was thought to be "too far from the mainstream" by the major labels, and "too mainstream" by the independent labels. Go figure.
But this tale is all too common these days, and it's a lousy excuse for failure anyway. So CYNTHIA JANE didn't allow themselves to be down for long. They kept forging ahead.
Ultimately, CYNTHIA JANE realized two things: one, they might never get any help from the record companies, and two, they didn't, after all, really need any help.
So they forged ahead.
CYNTHIA JANE has performed with many excellent bass players and drummers over the years, and now, lo and behold, they have recorded with three of the best.
