The video contains a documentation of Baiga Tribe of Madhya Pradesh. The Baiga, an agricultural community of Madhya Pradesh. It presents their village Panchayat, which has very specific rules for marriage, divorce, community relationships and miscreant behaviour. Marriage and courtship rituals have been focussed to highlight the ethos of a community, which is liberal and at the same governed by fairly stringent rules. The film, thus, salutes their highly evolved social order that has a positive and accepted place for everything and everyone. Their forms of recreation – games (played by adults and children), proverb and riddle competitions have been covered – which convey a zest for life that is evident in every aspect of Baiga lifestyle. It is a way of living that has the been passed on for generations, one that imbibes centuries of knowledge streams.
