It is my honor to present the following proclamation: WHEREAS, we honor and respect our elders and citizens of any age with physical or intellectual disabilities who reside in skilled nursing care centers nationwide; and WHEREAS, skilled nursing care centers throughout our area will observe National Skilled Nursing Care Week, May 9th through 15th, using this year’s theme of “Sharing Our Wisdom”; and WHEREAS, the City of Salisbury is committed to the quality of health, and take this moment to also embrace the nationwide theme, “Together Through the Seasons”; and WHEREAS, National Skilled Nursing Care Week is a week to honor and recognize the role of skilled nursing care centers in caring for America’s seniors and those with disabilities. NOW, THEREFORE, I, Karen K. Alexander, Mayor of the City of Salisbury, North Carolina, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM the week of May 9-15, 2021, as NATIONAL SKILLED NURSING CARE WEEK in Salisbury, and urge all citizens to help celebrate residents, patients, caregivers, nurses, and health care staff during this very special week.
