At 10:15 Wednesday morning, a clarion call went out!
Temperatures were expected to drop and Hoover residents were asked to donate items to help supply the warming station in Birmingham.
But there was a catch - those items were needed by 3:00 that same day!
Within hours the community response was resounding! Hundreds of items came pouring in--enough to fill two truck loads! Complete strangers came together and pooled their money to buy gift cards.
And just like that, Hoover proved who we are!
Officials with the warming station thank you.
Members of the Jefferson County Councilors Roundtable thank you.
And we, here at the City, thank you.
