The City of Arkansas City held a public meeting for a housing rehabilitation grant at 6 p.m. May 13 at Adams Elementary School, located at 1201 N. 10th St. The meeting was held in the library and was about 30 minutes long.
The City currently is working on applying for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for housing rehabilitation this summer. As part of this process, property owners in the target area were invited to attend this meeting to ask questions and learn more about the CDBG grant pre-application process.
Both homeowners and landlords in the target area — which is bounded by 10th Street to the east, Colorado Avenue to the north, Kansas Avenue to the south and 15th Street on the west — were welcome to attend.
A representative from the South Central Kansas Economic Development District (SCKEDD), which is working with the City to prepare the CDBG application, was present to explain the grant program.
For more information about the CDBG program, please call Principal Planner Josh White at (620) 441-4427 or email him at firstname.lastname@example.org. To register comments about housing needs in Ark City, email email@example.com.
