A brief interview with British singer Cilla Black. Done in Sydney, Australia (which as far as I know is nowhere near any desert - Sorry Cilla). I believe this was filmed for the Nine Network, which presumably still hold the rights to the footage. I had previously uploaded this, removed it, but here it is again. I hope I don't get copyright strike for it. Hey Nine Network, how about making more of your classic shows available on your streaming service Stan?

A series produced in Britain for international distribution. This episode features an interview with architect Sir Basil Spence. I'm not sure when this was produced, as different sources give conflicting dates. I do know that it appears in a Canadian television schedule from 1970. I suspect using this in projects or putting it on YouTube would result in a copyright strike by the BFI.

An episode of the talent show "Chance of a Lifetime". Contains original commercials and network ID. Contestants include two pop singers and an Italian-American group. Produced in New York City (per comments made by host Dennis James) Unfortunately, this is a poor quality videotape copy....the original kinescope no doubt looks better. A different copy of this episode, with different problems with picture quality, can be found here.  I guess this is a pointless upload.

An incomplete episode of the CBS series "On Broadway Tonight". This is only 25 minutes of a 60 minutes show. I don't have the complete episode.  The footage includes: Judy Garland singing songs, the Allen Brothers singing songs (there's also a song with Garland singing with them), a commercial for Alka Seltzer, some sponsor tags, a brief PSA for the Heart Fund, and Rudy Vallée doing a couple host segments.  Picture quality is poor.....unfortunately, this copy is various generations...

Half-hour western drama starring Rex Allen. This episode is about two feuding families. But a female from one family and a male from the other family love each other. Which makes the tensions between the two families even worse. Note: This played back when I viewed it on my computer prior to uploading it, but I have no idea if the streaming version will work. Picture quality isn't so good. Directed by William Witney.

An episode of the half-hour anthology series of the 1950s. The episode stars Dick Powell and Akim Tamiroff, and was originally telecast 24 May 1956 on CBS. Tamiroff plays an unpopular dictator. First episode of a series which aired for 20 episodes. Pretty much a talk show disguised as a game show. Groucho Marx is the star. Note: Two of the media players on my computer won't play this file, one of them does, and my Blu-ray/DVD player correctly played it off a USB stick. So I have no idea how the streaming version is gonna turn out. (thanks for letting me know the streaming version works)

Episode of the long-running sitcom, and this episode has an emphasis on Ricky Nelson. In this episode, there is a misunderstanding involving Ricky, Ricky's girlfriend, and a girl who keeps losing things. Amusing ending. Unfortunately, about a minute of the show is missing from the copy on the cheapo DVD this was taken from, and the copy on disc is also missing the closing credits. Originally telecast 4 January 1961.

Unsold pilot starring Groucho Marx and George Fenneman. This is a comedy talk show with a game show element thrown in. Guests include a woman who wants to be president, two women who want husbands who love cats, and celebrity guest William H. Parker (police chief). Although this pilot didn't sell, it has a lot in common with a series which did make it to air called "Tell it to Groucho". I do not know if this is truly public domain.

Episode of half-hour anthology series. This episode stars David Niven, and is a period drama set in 1893. He portrays a man trying to stop a war from happening in Samoa. The episode was originally telecast on CBS on 24 February 1955, aired at 9:30PM. As an added bonus, the opening titles include a message from the sponsor promoting some typically 1950s products....this is a plus, not a negative.

An episode of the popular 1950s half-hour anthology series. In this episode, Charles Boyer plays a man who returns to France to meet his 12-year-old daughter, who he has not seen in 5 years.  TV schedules suggest this was shown on 1 December 1955, though the user-edited IMDb suggests a different episode aired that date. This episode contains some brief exterior scenes shot in France, which are the most interesting aspect of the show.

An episode of Dinah Shore's popular NBC variety series. Guest stars are Art Carney, Betty Hutton, Boris Karloff. Lots of music and comedy. Before you ask for a colour version, may I remind you that no colour video-tapes survive from 1957, and colour kinescopes are exceptionally rare.

A live variety show hosted by singer Dinah Shore, along with her guests Ann Miller, Michigan State University Glee Club, Fred MacMurray, and a group called Dixie Small Fry. Contains the original commercials. Unfortunately, this transfer for some reason is off-centre, with part of the left-side image cut-off. It is not faulty camera work. Please note this problem if you upload clips of it to YouTube. This NBC telecast was originally in colour, but this copy is in black-and-white (No colour...
