A brief interview with British singer Cilla Black. Done in Sydney, Australia (which as far as I know is nowhere near any desert - Sorry Cilla). I believe this was filmed for the Nine Network, which presumably still hold the rights to the footage. I had previously uploaded this, removed it, but here it is again. I hope I don't get copyright strike for it. Hey Nine Network, how about making more of your classic shows available on your streaming service Stan?

A series produced in Britain for international distribution. This episode features an interview with architect Sir Basil Spence. I'm not sure when this was produced, as different sources give conflicting dates. I do know that it appears in a Canadian television schedule from 1970. I suspect using this in projects or putting it on YouTube would result in a copyright strike by the BFI.

An episode of the talent show "Chance of a Lifetime". Contains original commercials and network ID. Contestants include two pop singers and an Italian-American group. Produced in New York City (per comments made by host Dennis James) Unfortunately, this is a poor quality videotape copy....the original kinescope no doubt looks better. A different copy of this episode, with different problems with picture quality, can be found here.  I guess this is a pointless upload.

An incomplete episode of the CBS series "On Broadway Tonight". This is only 25 minutes of a 60 minutes show. I don't have the complete episode.  The footage includes: Judy Garland singing songs, the Allen Brothers singing songs (there's also a song with Garland singing with them), a commercial for Alka Seltzer, some sponsor tags, a brief PSA for the Heart Fund, and Rudy Vallée doing a couple host segments.  Picture quality is poor.....unfortunately, this copy is various generations...

An unsold pilot from 1964. A sketch comedy show. Produced by Jay Ward Productions for the CBS Television Network. Although not picked up, the pilot was nevertheless broadcast (I assume in edited form, as the version presented here is 33-and-a-half minutes without commercials).

The antithesis of 2010s television, an early 1950s series in which Marvin Miller would tell us a story. This was a 15-minute series. In this episode, Miller tells us the story of the downfall of Max Shinburn, notorious criminal. This is so low-budget, they didn't do a retake when the camera went out of focus for about 40 seconds. I cannot find any record in newspapers of this series having aired. Yet Miller refers to a previous episode and mentions the subject matter of the next episode. A...

Unsold pilot starring Groucho Marx and George Fenneman. This is a comedy talk show with a game show element thrown in. Guests include a woman who wants to be president, two women who want husbands who love cats, and celebrity guest William H. Parker (police chief). Although this pilot didn't sell, it has a lot in common with a series which did make it to air called "Tell it to Groucho". I do not know if this is truly public domain.

Interesting episode of the U.S. TV western series. Starring Edgar Buchanan. Filmed in rather odd-looking colour, an interesting change from the usually black-and-white 1950s TV. In this episode, a Native American is murdered. Judge Roy Bean tries to find the killer.

Amusing episode of the popular 1950s half-hour anthology TV series. This episode stars David Niven as an eccentric Earl, and is a comedy episode set in England. It is based on a story by P. G. Wodehouse. It's interesting that the occasional comedy episodes of "Four Star Playhouse" did not use a laugh track, and indeed, David Niven said in a newspaper interview that he hated laugh tracks. This episode has also been shown under the series titles "Star Performance",...

A later episode of the long-running sitcom (19 February 1966). June Nelson tries to trick David Nelson into going on a trip to Hawaii.  A shame that the disc source for this episode put watermarks on it. Also, although the final season was filmed in colour, the circulating copies are black-and-white, which is odd.

Popular entertainment from the 1950s, a sitcom starring Ann Sothern as a secretary. Funny stuff all these decades lately. Note: this is a syndication print under the "Susie" title, but still runs the full 26 minutes.

A 1902 recording of "I Have Grown So Used to You" by musician J. Frank Hopkins, combined with the visual of rain falling into a puddle. Once again, not classic TV, and this video only exists to prove to future generations that I existed. I suppose this could go into the short films section, but I don't think this counts as a film. The audio comes from the ever-lovely UCSB Cylinder Audio Archive. The video itself is by me.

Re-upload with improved picture quality. Soap opera aired in a 15-minute time-slot on CBS (a search of newspapers shows it aired from 4:15PM to 4:30PM). Contains two fun promos and a beautifully dated PSA.

A few bits of footage I took. Hopefully OK to release under a creative commons licence. Includes: Power lines pole, flowers, and a sign. I upload this to the classic TV section so it is easier for me to keep track of. Once again, we have an upload that was only made so there is additional proof I exist. However, the flowers are kinda interesting, and the power lines poles may be of historical interest in 100 years from now.
