An unusual episode of "Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts". Arthur, as usual, blabs a lot during the episode. His guests include an unfortunately-named singing trio, a pianist, and an opera singer. Before each segment Arthur blabs a lot. Also includes the original commercial! That's not a typo! Just one commercial during the entire 30 minutes! Wow!

An episode of the popular anthology series "Four Star Playhouse". This episode stars David Niven as a man who refuses to have his kids go to regular school. It is a comedy-drama episode. I'd watch Niven in anything. He's always fun to watch. This episode aired on 7 October 1954 at 9:30 on most CBS stations. For example, in New York City this aired on WCBS, aired against "Ford Television Theater" on WNBT, a film ("The Courageous Mr. Penn") on WABD, "Kraft...

An episode of popular variety series "The Perry Como Show", with guests Nat King Cole, Dick Van Dyke, The McGuire Sisters, and Rosemary June. I might be wrong on the date of the episode (though references in the episode do suggest an early 1959 broadcast date, and 17 January is the date given on the source for this upload). An unsold TV pilot from 1963 called "The Plot Thickens". Same concept as the early 1950s series "Crawford Mystery Theatre" (of which only a single kinescope survives...anyone able to upload it?). In this pilot, a panel is shown a short film about a crime, and then has to guess who the guilty person is. Features Groucho Marx as one of the panel members.

A 1956 episode of Rosemary Clooney's variety series. This episode features Buster Keaton doing two comedy sketches, plus child Gail Stone doing two songs. Unfortunately, this copy has two watermarks which I cannot remove, though they are very different watermarks than usual and they only occur during the opening titles.

An episode of "The Steve Allen Show", a variety show aired in prime-time on NBC. This copy is complete with the original commercials. Highlights include Don Adams doing a comedy routine, Errol Flynn doing a parody of "To Tell the Truth" and Martha Raye doing a spoof of "Your Hit Parade". Note: black-and-white copy of color/colour broadcast (no colour tapes survive from that period). Audio sync is imperfect at times.

An episode of Patti Page's syndicated series for Oldsmobile, which aired in a 15-minute time-slot. My usual DVD ripper wouldn't rip the disc properly, so I have to use a far inferior ripper. Also, the file on the source DVD has pretty bad sound quality, which is a problem considering this is a music show. So no, I cannot fix the "AM car radio" sound quality.

A fragment from the "Robert Q. Lewis Show", a daytime variety series. The fragment includes the following: Robert talking about his weekend, a musical performance, exotic food festival promotion. This has been uploaded before, but in poorer picture quality. I don't know if any complete episodes exist of this poorly-preserved show.

An episode of "Four Star Playhouse", a popular 1950s anthology series. This episode stars Lilli Palmer, John Howard, Robert Paige, and Phyllis Stanley. In this episode, a woman feels neglected by her husband. This aired on 18 March 1954 on CBS at 8:30PM, and aired against "Treasury Men in Action" on NBC, "Broadway to Hollywood" on DuMont, and "The Ray Bolger Show" on ABC. If you were lucky enough to live in beautiful New York City, you also had the choice...

An episode of the late-1950s NBC revival of "Bride and Groom". This was a show in which a couple who had decided to get married, would get married on the air, and receive a bunch of prizes for doing so. Features the wedding of Honey Dubin and Harold Greer. This was a daytime series, so expect more advertising than a prime-time series.

An episode of "Bride and Groom", an early 1950s CBS TV series in which a couple would get married on the air, and receive a bunch of prizes for doing so. Not sure of the exact date, but I would guess around 1952/1953. Hosted by John Nelson, featuring the wedding of Anna Goldman and George Robert Nathan. Phil Hanna sings a song. Complete with the original commercials for General Mills products.

An episode of "The Brighter Day", a soap opera of the 1950s. In this episode, one of the characters is getting ready to get married. Complete with the original commercials for Cheer detergent and Shasta shampoo. Print is a bit dark. I might be wrong, but I believe most episodes of this series are lost.

A later episode of the long-running sitcom (19 February 1966). June Nelson tries to trick David Nelson into going on a trip to Hawaii.  A shame that the disc source for this episode put watermarks on it. Also, although the final season was filmed in colour, the circulating copies are black-and-white, which is odd.

Amusing episode of the popular 1950s half-hour anthology TV series. This episode stars David Niven as an eccentric Earl, and is a comedy episode set in England. It is based on a story by P. G. Wodehouse. It's interesting that the occasional comedy episodes of "Four Star Playhouse" did not use a laugh track, and indeed, David Niven said in a newspaper interview that he hated laugh tracks. This episode has also been shown under the series titles "Star Performance",...

Unsold pilot starring Groucho Marx and George Fenneman. This is a comedy talk show with a game show element thrown in. Guests include a woman who wants to be president, two women who want husbands who love cats, and celebrity guest William H. Parker (police chief). Although this pilot didn't sell, it has a lot in common with a series which did make it to air called "Tell it to Groucho". I do not know if this is truly public domain.

An episode of Kate Smith's hour-long live variety series, with a mix of music, dancing and comedy. Guests included some country music acts (among them Hank Williams), and a comedy act called "Ethel and Albert". Contains the original commercials. Unfortunately my usual DVD ripper wouldn't rip this properly, so I had to use a different ripper, which is inferior.

A filmed mid-1950s country music show. Includes a variety of styles of country music, plus a square dancing segment. My regular DVD ripper wouldn't rip the disc properly, so I had to use a different ripper, hence the high amount of compression (which I cannot fix).
