About the Presenters:
Councilman Nate Thomas
Prior to joining the Cape Girardeau City Council, Mr. Thomas had experience working in policy development and advocacy within the federal government. He was previously employed in Washington DC as Associate Director of Federal Government Affairs for the American Physical Therapy Association, directing and advancing the public policy priorities for the physical therapy profession and its patients. He worked closely with a wide variety of government offices, federal agencies, coalitions, and state governments from across the country. Thomas continues to actively engage with the Missouri State Legislature in advocacy for a number of priorities each year, including those on behalf of the City of Cape Girardeau.
Scott Meyer City Manager Scott Meyer has been in public service for over 30 years. Mr. Meyer is a Professional Engineer and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Missouri-Rolla (Missouri S&T) . With the Missouri Department of Transportation, he served as District Engineer, Assistant District Engineer-Design, District Maintenance and Traffic Engineer, Division Traffic Studies Engineer, and Construction Inspector. At Southeast Missouri State University. he served as the Director of Facilities Management. He plans to retire from the City in June following an impressive 12-year career as our top executive.
