Barb Rode has seen all the challenges and struggles in senior care. Rode has worked in senior services since 1972, including the last 22 years as president and CEO of Saint Therese senior care. She says the struggles with staffing shortages in long-term care have taken a toll. Rode hopes with a state surplus, a funding solution can be found. "I think the funding and their wages have to compensate for where we're at right now or this senior care could collapse,” said Rode. The longtime senior care leader plans to retire at the end of May, ushering in a new chapter at Saint Therese.
