1959 wildland firefighter training film on the Inspection, maintenance and safe and effective use of the shovel in wildland firefighting. Part of the "Hand Tool" series of four films created for the California Division of Forestry with George Fox Productions for training California's wildland firefighters in the 1960's. Used prior to the advent of formal courses to instruct firefighters in the Many concepts remain applicable to wildland firefighting even to the present day. George Walsh plays the instructor.
