This recording was made using a Zoom H4N. The recorder was positioned next to the northbound carriageway of the A38. This is the point at which deer currently try and cross the A38 to get to the other side of Haldon Forest. There was a continuous flow of traffic at this time of day making crossing impossible. Road casualty deer are often seen at this point. This area has been identified as a good point for a potential green bridge for safe wildlife passage. Bizarrely dormice have been found living in the central reservation. This recording is part of a series of recordings that will be taken across the landscape, Devon Wildland, to highlight the soundscape that wildlife experience and highlight any potential soundscape barriers that may effect connectivity for wildlife.
