6:09 pm
children understand that message. detective misty hollywood the portsmouth police department says that this is a conversation that's being prompted by two separate accidental shootings that happen over the weekend and just minutes apart. first on lancer drive a boy found an unrestricted gun and shot himself. no more gay wayne and juvenile boy shot a nine year old boy with a gun he found on the ground and is really will be there by the moniker reddick lives just two doors down from where the gun was fired as a gun owner and a mother of two this is a topic that hits too close to home is very important even to my guns you don't touch it you know in the mix i keep people out of sight and locked away police say with the steps of the shootings and the injuries in both cases could have been prevented an adult who has been touting their life that they see that they care about that they know it's important for us to spread the word to teach our children how important is not

the veterans are expressing outrage across the country and right here in half and they say they're being given the run around the local va hospitals and can't seem to get answers about their health and benefits investigative reporter lauren ballard joins us now this is a story that many of our viewers can relate to guys and i were telling one local family story but theirs is indicative of what veterans say is a much larger problem at the va the process of our story might seem tedious because the process that say
6:14 pm
get answers is tedious were not occurring as picks up the phone dials get another eight hundred number to it with her husband a rock by her side she waits for the familiar automated message this time saying she is the twenty second person waiting. then comes the incessant hum of hold music very hard to get hung up but some days the frustration and repetition of the seemingly endless fight away all her heart you think that because you served your country for thirteen years and went to two war zones the emotion overwhelms her and concerned about the future my daughter you see her husband. iraq is the love of her life in the fight of his life hours less than twenty five meters

of medical issues leads the couple to believe he has a traumatic brain injury or tbi. it is the signature injury in the war on terror soldiers are coming back from war zones every day with tb eyes. it's more than a slap in the face it's like they're stomping all over us in order to get the benefits and thus the medical therapy for tbi through the va that has to go through a compensation and pension exam a rock was seen by a psychiatrist for what he believes was that exam back in august six months later he still isn't sure if that doctor confirmed a tbi diagnosis. basically there's no hope in allah and a rock agree to sit down with us to show the process they and many other vets have to go through to get answers to

6:19 pm
lots of sunshine. nothing on radar then you would expect there to be when everybody has nice clear skies currently it's mostly sunny sixty six but it will be cooling off pretty quickly by nine pm already down well into the fifties these again are average temperatures in by midnight already down into the forties right now everybody generally in the sixties a few exceptions wall of silence for example parts of eastern shore upper fifties right now but we're going to watch everybody again dropped back later tonight with the wind shifting by the way esp are the reason we're getting a cooldown come tomorrow or going to drop back then as we just showed it to the evening pretty quickly fifties forties and then overnight down into some areas is low as the upper thirties are near forty but i'll say most of our sorta somewhat suburban locations will call it lower forties and then tomorrow morning up to the fifties with some sunshine and then tomorrow afternoon will see highs lunch time already in the sixties little bit of a wind off the water will keep it cooler in places where
6:20 pm
especially where the bay and by later in the day no where near what we saw today which is well up in the seventies but it'll still be sixties again not quite as warm some showers overnight tuesday night and then into wednesday a few areas will see a shower in the morning as well. then temperatures won't go up much in fact the problem be warmer early in the morning on wednesday than they are in the afternoon as we see a north westerly wind starting to bring in some chili or conditions right now clear skies not only here but everywhere around the region late in the week this is what i'm talking about i should be a future cast little while ago. this is another model and this is very similar positioning so the big question is how much moisture will there be how much cold air will there be but this is sort of the rain snow line that computer says we get that's the euro which has been pretty good says we get a few inches of snow across parts of the region not all that far inland during the day on friday so that is certainly a distinct possibility look at that
6:21 pm
today the sixties the fifties the forties maybe not even out of the thirties by friday but then we turned the corner we start back up again. i do the right to the ice with scott at rice mikey we have one more day before the beginning of march and the madness instead of hoops tonight let's concentrate on junior hockey league a program in our i'm hillary clinton and i approve this message. her life's work has been about breaking barriers. and so would her presidency. which is why, for every american who's not being paid what they're worth... who's held back by student debt or a system tilted against them- and there are far too many of you- she understands that our country can't reach it's potential... unless we all do. together.
