blue route contacts the interstate 95 i think right around there is about to pick up some heavy stuff, too, and even the blue route might pick up some of this as well. if i leave you with the wide view those northern cells as expected are pretty much north of allentown and reading. as we take a look at sky6 this morning, you can see that it is cloudy and there is some rain falling in philadelphia, so get the umbrella ready and if you hear that rumble of thunder try to take covs your ct temperature. number has climbed up just a little bit in the half hour. 66 is your dewpoint. winds are calm currently although they could get blustery ahead of any downpour. ocean temperature 73. between now and the enter of the rush end of the rush hour we in and out of showers, drenching downpours will slow you down as they may put a lot of rain down in a hurry and back up the storm drains temporarily. by noon a spotty shower and by 3 o'clock when the kids are coming home today still a spotty shower and thunderstorm around so you'll want to check out radar before you go out to take the walk to pick them up

at the bus stop. by 6 o'clock, we're probably still somewhat unsettled and then later in the evening, off and on precipitation. by 11 o'clock, we should be drying out, although overnight some additional showers and maybe a thunderstorm could form and some of that might go into the early part of tomorrow. today's high a lot cooler than yesterday. we'll only get to 73 degrees after yesterday's 88. it will not be raining all the time but at times you'll have the threat of that shower or thunderstorm or at least a downpour. 73 is the high in philadelphia. 60's in the allentown reading and lancaster area, upper 60's there. low 70's in trenton and wilmington. 73 in cape may and 75 on the boardwalk in a.c. hurricane irma is a beast. potentially the strongest storm that we have seen in the atlantic basin with 185 miles per hour winds. the gusts with this storm are up to about 220. the latest most likely track takes this to the north of san juan puerto rico, dominican republic and haiti although these areas could get some degree of wind and rain. turks and caicos with a major category five really look to get slammed as will much of
5:44 am
the southern bahamas. a category four then as we get close to cuba and as we go into tight, this is now looking like that turn to the north that we were expecting will indeed happen and if it does, miami will be on the west side of that storm track where the strongest forward winds are probably as a category four or a three as it comes in and this area from miami up to hollywood and fort lauderdale really look to get slammed. not that it's going to be a party in key west and fort myers but this side of the storm will produce the worst winds and we are looking at a really good chance of tropical storm force winds. some of these actually over here in puerto rico, you can see right there the very strong wind profile over puerto rico. not quite as much over haiti and the dominican republic but look at miami. i mean, this is right in the heart of what we're expecting. tropical storm josé in the meantime is also formed. this one will quickly become a hurricane later on today, kind of following irma but it looks like this one wants to go to the north and hopefully not a big problem if you're in bermuda, that might be an issue and then finally we have
5:45 am
tropical storm katia which has just formed in the last couple hours. this one is within the sights of houston but fortunately it looks like the wind patterns are going to take it into texas just as a tropical storm so rain down there. your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast around here we've got off and on showers and some occasional heavy downpours. 73 is the high. clouds then breaking tomorrow after a potential morning shower, 74, nice in the afternoon. and then friday, saturday and sunday all look great. friday 73. saturday 71. and sunday 72 for your high and all three days autumnal and really nice. if we get any irma related rain, by the way, it's probably not until tuesday. >> all right. thank you, david. it is now 5:45 and police are in the right spot to save a man's life. how they revised revived him just in time on a septa bus. >> an historic trip for pope francis as he tries to bring peace to a south american country. karen. >> looking live on 95 right now and we've got rain that's heavy in some spots.
