august 1, matt o'donnell is off, nydia han is joining us. we're following breaking news from montgomery county. detectives surrounded an ambler apartment where two people were shot. we're live on the scene. a wilmington man hears gunshots outside his home only to realize he has been hit. we'll get to that in a moment, but let's head over to david murphy he is talking about rain coming in and matt pellman is in for karen rogers with traffic, good morning. >> reporter: on the big board we have thunderstorms vive passing

through the -- that have been passing through the southern tier of the region. a lot of lightning out of this, it will be off the coast today. storms that form will be moving slowly. so those under it will be getting a good downpour that may last a little while. there's cloud cover around the region. some of us will get early sun. overall it will be clouds and sun and warm this afternoon and channels of a additional showers and thunderstorms. there's a flood watch late this evening, in the northern suburbs, everything north of the philadelphia. and allentown and the poconos trenton included in this, and montgomery and bucks county. any thunderstorms that form this afternoon or evening could include drenching downpours and in this area you have seen four to 6 inches of rain over the last couple of days and the run

better things on the roads this week, david. on i-95 we started with a crash in the northbound direction approaching allegheny avenue as you can see the crash is here no longer all northbound lanes are reopened and heading southbound toward center city, check point is gone, the checkpoint gotten from the northbound side of i-95 at the platt bridge. all the blockages from the dnc have cleared out. overnight closures to the vine return tonight. we've had a week and a half off from at them, 11:00 p.m. it will shut down again. this morning we're seeing people coming down from the poconos, after the nascar race. now they are dealing with southbound construction between quakertown and lansdale, right lane is out of commission, tam. >> we're following breaking news, police in montgomery

county converged on a am pleasure apartment building two people were shot overnight, annie mccormick is live at the scene of the crime on the 100 block of forest avenue, annie, what do we know? >> reporter: tamala, at this hour we only have limited preliminary information, i can tell you that the forensic unit is out here, a number of police officers as well as detectives in the montgomery county district attorney's office take a look at the video, what we know police came out to investigate around midnight. they are investigating a double shooting. they say it took place just after midnight inside an apartment in the 100 block of forest avenue. now, when investigators arrived they focused on a second floor apartment at forest gardens apartment complex. at this hour there are few leads or information. back out here live, we don't know if there's a shooter on the loose or if they took anybody into custody. we are waiting to hear the

conditions of the people shot. two people were shot around midnight at the apartment complex. they are still out here on the scene. reporting live ambler borough, back to you. >> new this morning, a wilmington shooting victim is in critical condition. police in delaware say the bullet bounced off his skull. the 24-year-old man was walking to his front door 11:00 p.m., he heard two gunshots and realized he was hit in the head. police are searching for the shooter. smoke and flames damaged a house in new jersey. it happened on south johnson avenue in hamilton township. no word on what caused the fire and there were injuries. police are looking for a person involved in a violent act of road rage. katherine scott is at knights

and woodhaven where the bullets were fired. >> reporter: police believe a driver fired in a case of road rage. gunfire in northeast philadelphia just before 7:15 p.m. a driver of a black cadillac fired a shot into this silver honda near knights and woodhaven road. the victim drove down woodhaven road and got on to i-95 and called 911. multiple state agencies responded including the state police. in may, police arrested this man for shooting into a car on the blue route and then in june a gunman fired into a car on i-95 north on the girard point bridge causing the victim's tire to blow out in the middle of the morning rush. the suspect was able to getaway

and police have not announced any arrests. katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> a 76-year-old cumberland man was an improving condition this morning in a bizarre miss happen he was shot by -- mishap he was shot by new jersey state troopers inside his own home. jerry sykes is recovering from being shot. police were responding to a 911 call and ended up at sykes home. sykes thought it was intruders, so he grabbed his shotgun, the new jersey state police fired four shots into his home. republican nominee donald trump continues to draw rout outrage about the comments he made about a muslim family.

near baltimore. >> reporter: that's a beautiful town, it's just a shame, it's built on a hill, but the down part on the water. storm tracker 6 live double scan shows us we are mostly dry across the region, but you can see there's one bit of thunderstorm activity that is moving north of atlantic city and oceanville and some of rain is affected surf city, but a lot of it going through southern burlington county and into southern ocean county. this is a slow-mover, it's producing drenching downpours, be careful if you're trying to drive around in it. lightning will be an issue, but there's localized flooding that will drain off the roads. let's get you outside, sky6 live hd at the shore, the shore is overcast, though in atlantic city we're not looking at any rain right now. but warm and muggy conditions across the region. temperature currently is
