storm..sharon - how are people coping with no power? 3 trying to stay in a home without power is difficult.not only are they in the dark at night - but that's also when its the coldest.so - people went searching for kerosene heaters and motels to stay warm.3 3 3 3 fierce and powerful winds caused a large limb to break off this tree.its branches crashed straight through this laurens county home. home.(55227) 9:54:23 "landed on top of my house. we had a big limb that went through the house and made two big holes- probably one six by ten, one six by six."the branch knocked out power and shorted the

with colon cancer while just 17 weeks pregnant with her daughter lilla. 3 although lindsey lost her fight to cancer her family and friends are helping her memory live on. 3 fox carolina's rebecca atkins was there tonight as they lit up the cancer survivors bridge and rebecca what was that like? 3 cody and diana, it was a beautiful walk here tonight to the bridge. there was a mailbox out here earlier among the candles and it said dear lilla on the side for linsey's daughter. family and friends wrote messages to her for her father to read to her throughout her life. 3 3 3 3 river high about the river, now sits rows of candles. they have all been placed here for lindsey motley. the 29 year old passed away just a few days ago after a long battle with cancer. 3 3 "we all begin our journey without the physical presence of lindsey, while feeling her light shine throughout this world."dozens of lindsey's family and friends walked from cleveland street...

what does that lawsuit say? 3 the lawsuit says that the sheriff's office used excessive force and gross negligence in rosemond's death. and tonight--the family's attorney says they want to know all the circumstances surrounding his death. 3 3 3 the night of december 10th has been on the minds of many in greenville county-- particularly because of what happened.a man robbed-- deputies arrive and the man shoots them--before they fire back.the deputy involved suffered severe injuries--in the months since--the family of the man killed says they have not gotten the answers they need. need. 3 3 we want to know why he was shot and killed in the first placefletcher smith is the attorney for the family of charles rosemond, senior.he says what happened in rosemond's home is still a big mystery--more than two months on. on. 3 3 we want to see the autopsy reports, we want to see the sled investigatory reports, we want to see if there were any internal investigation by the sheriff's department.deputies say that they did try to help

they tried to come to his aid after he had been robbed.this is what they said, the night the shooting happened. happened. 3 "they knocked several times on the door identifying themselves as greenville co. sheriff's office. they heard no response."but deputies say when he fired at one of their own--they were forced to fire. with the more than 11 million undocumented immigrants in the country. 3 3 3 3 we either have a country or we don't have a country - we have at least 11 million people in this country that came in illegally - they will go out - they will come back. some of them will come back. the best ones. but it'll be a process. they have to come back legally - they will have to go through a process - it may be a long process but i think that's very fair and very fine. fine. 3 we have to move past this idea that somehow this hispanic community only cares about immigration - yes it's an important issue because we know and love people that have been impacted by it - but i'm going to tell you the most powerful sentiment for the hispanic community as it is in every immigrant community is the burning desire to leave your children better off than yourself 3 3 we have always welcomed legal immigrants but i think it is a mistake to forgive those who break the law - to allow them to become u.s. citizens and that's why i've led the fight against granting citizenship to those here illegally, and that's why i'll do the same thing as president.

3 in a developing story 3 a new filing tonight - in the ongoing legal battle surrounding the death of clemson student tucker hipps. hipps.you'll recall the 19 year old died in september of 2014 while on an early morning run with his fraternity brothers.that fraternity - sigma phi epsilon filed a response to the hipps family's wrongful death lawsuit - and they're denying any responsibility for tucker's death. death.the fraternity denies hipps' fall, injuries and death from the highway 93 bridge over lake hartwell was caused by fraternity brothers' gross negligence and recklessness, and that any injuries or damages sustainedwere caused by hipps' - quote "own negligence and comparative fault" sig ep also denies clemson had investigated numerous violations of the student conduct code by the local chapter in the fall semester

fraternity did confirm tucker was elected pledge class president- they went on to deny dozens of other allegations that hipps' family has made. made.the wrongful death lawsuit seeks more than $25 million in damages against clemson university, the fraternity and some of its members.no criminal charges have ever been filed in hipps' death. 3 fox carolina is continuing to cover our counties 3 in greenville county, the city of mauldin is moving forward with a plan to fix the traffic issues plaguing east butler road. road.city council approved a corridor plan at its last meeting -the proposal develops minor road improvements for the commercial area - in place of a five lane roadway proposed by dot. dot.under the east butler corridor plan - the city would make intersection improvements - as well as realigning old mill road and owens lane - along with widening murray drive at owens lane.the proposal also calls for bicycle and pedestrian improvements.the city's economic development planner

growth in the area every year for the next 20 years - and that this plan would help accommodate future traffic through 2040. 3 also in spartanburg county- deputies are searching for a man they say- cloned credit cards- and made more than 1- thousand dollars in purchases in the upstate. upstate.this is their suspect...but they need help identifying him.they say he is tied to a string of thefts including a recent one at the walgreen's in spartanburg. authorities say- the man used a cloned card- and purchased more than 500-dollars in merchandise. 3 deputies say- the suspect- also used a fake credit card at red lobster in spartanburg and at a walgreen's in greenville county two weeks ago. the charges totaled more than 500-dollars. 3 if you have seen or know who this man-you are asked to call crime stoppers at 1-888-crime-sc 3 greenville police are issuing a warning about a phone scam involving a caller posing as an i-r-s agent -- hoping more victims don't fall prey! prey!police say they've gotten

now to some new information 3 the flu vaccine- is doing a better job this year- compared to last year. 3 preliminary data says the vaccine is more-effective this year. the report comes from a committee-that reports to the c-d-c. they say the vaccine is a better match to the strains that are making people sick. you'll recall last year - the flu vaccine was far less effective because the virus had mutated.that led the cdc to declare an epidemic - but so far this year - the flu season has been notably slow. the comittee's report also says-doctors no longer need to watch patients 30-minutes
