the wall from the interstate above, one of them killed. 3 and here's a look at the d-o-t cam of 385 in that same area. the coroner was called out there tonight... in addition to at least one death... a greenville police officer's cruiser was hit.385 heading into downtown greenville is at a standstill... with a number of areas and bridges closed to icing too. 3 and this is a live look at 385 near pleasantburg.traffic going into the city is closed for that fatal accident...and traffic headed out of greenville is now slow going. you can see one red truck is stuck after skidding..the interstate is a sheet of ice!

threat in the mountains -this a live look in henderson county.... where it's icy tonight in flat rock.with roads that bad... we know many of you are wondering about 3 schools. 3 tomorrow.. greenville county schools will be on a two hour delay...that's the only upstate announcement so far. the delays and closings for other parts of our area are scrolling at the bottom of your screen right now. now.we want to check with chief meteorologist kendra kent... to see if roads are expected to improve overnight...or get even worse. kendra it is dangerous out there tonight...but we understand the ice will not be in our area long, right? 3 freezing rain and fog will continue for the upstate along

which looks to also be at a standstill 3 lets send it out to rebecca atkins for an update on these conditions. 3 the greenville county coroner's office was called to a fatal crash on monday evening.the coroner said he was called to a crash on villa road near the fairway club apartments just after 7:30 p.m. on 2-15-16 a gpd officer responded to an accident on north pleasantburg and villa road. while the officer was working the accident investigation another vehicle struck the police cruiser and two people involved in the original accident. one person

patient had a serious head injury the others had laserations to parts of their bodies from the falls. dr. blasenak with emergency md says when people aren't prepared for the slick conditions and then you fall, he says the trauma is generally much more severe then if you were able to brace yourself. 3 3 3 3 "a lot of people have been falling while climbing stairs, it was kinin of deceptive today, they didn't think it was wet and frozen and so multiple people walking up stairs didn't realize that it was slippery and ended up falling back and injuring their extremities. i i d a person hit their head, they had a concusion as well, head injuries." injuries."the doctor recommends placing salt or ice melt around your home and areas where you walk, to try injuries. upstate right now!! now!!we'll take you to downtown greenville.... where roads are completely shut down..to protect drivers... police want you to stay off the roads...

upstate roads - faster than crews can stop it.we've had our crews at numerous crash scenes throughout the evening. 3 fox carolina's shale remien has been talking with law enforement about these accidents throughout the day and into the evening -she's out along interstate 85 with more 3 cody and diana - -it is extremely slick out there! and even at 30 degrees, it feels so much colder tonight. 3 driving around the upstate tonight, i have been seeing accident after accident forming. a car at one point actually spun out in front of me and nearly missed our station car. when you are it

of the black ice forming 3 this evening. 3 fox carolina captured a near miss accident today....take a look at this footage here. these drivers were lucky in comparison to what we've been seeing tonight. flipped vehicles in several counties. fire chief watson was on the scene of an overturned vehicle accident earlier and says cars are sliding right into each other causing major damage. i have been contact with travelers rest police chief and he says they have seen at least five overturned cars within a few hours. at least ten car collisions within 3 3 "we have a couple of bridges that are wide sweeping curves and we find that people are speeding up to leave the city and slowly down rapidly when they're coming into the city. you combined that with a bridge that has ice around it and it's recipe for a disaster. 3 i just got off the phone with greenville county this evening. they say their problem areas remain around the northern part of the county around taylors. i was over at d-o-t tonight, and not many trucks
