they can monitor roadways in greenville and across the upstate. many people are concerned about that morning commute. so i spoke with emeregency services and fire departments about what you need to be aware of. 3 3 3 we have already seen it this winter season. snow and ice. that make it difficult to get from point a to point b. b."your firefighters are going to be in their stations this evening checking their equipment, generators and make sure those are up and running." fire stations across the upstate, are prepping for any potential problems caused by dangerous weather. "we start looking at known trouble spots, neighborhoods that have hills in them, shaded spots that are off state highways that aren't often traveled through."and crews are thinking ahead - so they're ready for anything."we look at the vehicles we have one the road and make sure our ambulances have snow chains that we are moving our four wheel vehicles to front line
to areas."the greenville fire department says one common problem they expect to face during inclement weather:power outages. 3 "any time the ice storm and snow storm hit, we do see trees knocking out powerlines. we ask that people treat powerlines like they are live. do not touch them."and the fire department, highway patrol and department of transportation want you to know - they make sure to stay in touch ...and relay information to each other to make informed decisions.and they'll continue to monitor weather services tonight. last night.troopers say a driver was trying to turn left onto cleveland street-but he failed to yield the right- of-way - and hit a police cruiser.troopers tell us three passengers - including a two- year-old - were transported to the hospital.highway patrol says the toddler was *not properly restrained.the officer was not hurt. 3 fox carolina is covering our counties 3 in anderson county- an arson investigation is underway- after a car lot was destroyed by a fire. fire.officials say a vehicle was stolen off the lot at the same time this morning. morning.the fire started- at leroy's auto sales on manly drive before 4-a-m.once the fire was put out-the owner noticed that car had been taken off the lot. officials- say they found the car three blocks away from where the fire started. no arrests have been made. authorities haven't said what caused the fire. 3 also in spartanburg county- investigators are trying to track down man accused of setting an abandoned building on fire. it all started here- on east main street around 1 o'clock this morning.what exactly started the fire is not known. right now-the

3 fox carolina is covering our counties-- 3 an oconee county man is in jail--after a seven hour swat standoff. standoff.here's a look at david brown.deputies say they were called to south stonegate drive around three o'clock this morning - after reports of shots fired. fired.the sheriff's office say brown assaulted his wife-and then locked himself inside the home with three children. deputies tell us *no threats were made to the kids - and brown surrendered just after 10 a-m.he was arrested and charged with domestic violence. 3 a spartanburg county woman is accused of reporting a *fake armed robbery.deputies say they were called to the "fast shop" on asheville highway yesterday - after kenasha stewart claimed she was robbed at gunpoint outside the store. stewart told deputies the man broke her car window - before running off on foot.so, they set up a perimeter to try to track the suspect down. deputies say stewart later admitted to making up the story - after a dispute with the father of her child.she says she had a fight with him after he accused her of relations with another man. according to reports - she got
