in through downtown. still quiet out to west shore and looking good if you are out the door in polk county, i-4 is accident and delay free. breaking news in tampa. investigators are on the scene of an apparent smash-and-grab burglary at a gun store. >> it happened at the tampa arms company on west waters near dale do we know if any of the guns are missing from the store. >> we don't know the information just yet. that is a big concern for law enforcement on scene this morning. they need to identifying out exactly what was taken from the store. we know the tampa arms company sells a variety of guns and also ammunition. so, there could potentially be a lot of inventory in the hands of some bad people this morning. deputies are trying to figure

folks got in the store. they are refueling surveillance video fringe side the store and around the complex. -- from inside the store and around the complex. deputies responded to the scene after security alarms at the company went off this morning. when they arrived they found the front window gone and a wall of inventory empty. deputies have not been able to take an exact inventory of the store. they don't know exactly what was ta again, a variety of guns and ammunition. there are about a dozen stores in this complex and this was the only one that was hit. now, as you can see, there are bars over the t-mobile store right next to the tampa arms company but we are told birr deputies there were -- by deputies there were no bars on the windows of the gun store.

stabbed several victims with a butcher knife. students who saw what happened started calling 911. >> i am at ohio state. there was a guy that smashed his car into people and then ran out with a knife chasing down people. >> a campus police officer shot and killed artan ending the attack. 11 people were taken to the horns one with critical injuries. they are looking into the suspect's background. they say he recently posted comments about the treatment of muslims on his teacher that admitted to having sex with a student 20 times as well as two other teenagers wants her sentence reduced. she will ask a judge to shave off some of the 22 year sentence that she was ordered to serve in state prison. ryan hughes is live outside the polk county courthouse this morning. why is fichter asking for a lighter sentence? >> reporter: reports show she wants a sentence reduction

were willing participants and she thinks she can find more suitable treatment options outside of prison. last year jennifer fichter was sentenced to more than 20 years in prison for having sex with three teenage boys. in court the judge called her a predator. she was remorseful but still given a harsh sentence. today she plans to ask for a significant reduction. more details will come out in court. here is fichter last year when inaudible ]. >> detectives said fichter had sex with one student 20 to 30 times in the back of her pickup truck. we will have a crew in the courtroom when this hearing gets underway at 8:30 this morning. >> a lot of folks are watching this case. thanks, ryan.

charges. ammit santiago is accused of molesting a girl in 2014. the incident happened before he worked at eisenhower middle school. he has since resigned from his job at the gibsonton school. in cuba, thousands are lining up to pay respects to fidel castro. that take a look at the -- take a look at th he has a look at the final farewell. >> reporter: today tens of thousands of cubans are coming out to pay their respects to fidel castro. later today there will be a service in revolution plaza, a place where fidel castro gave many of his speeches. three popes held mass here. this line is amazing, snaking its way through the city streets of havana and up the

the time is 5:30. ian oliver is in for leigh spann. how is it shaping up? >> warm, 3450eu8d, muggy this -- mild, muggy this afternoon. a breezy southeast wind into the afternoon. here is the temperatures moving through the day. already above average by lunchtime. upper 70s. the average 75 degrees. we are heading up to 83 later this afternoon. temperatures are in the upper 60s. this is average as we start off the day. the 24-hour temperature change 5 to 10 warmer than this time yesterday. notice the temperatures surging across the southeastern united states. this is in front of a cold front, one that did bring severe weather to parts of the southeast arriving thursday in a greatly diminished state. hopefully we can squeeze a few showers out of the front. that will be the best chance through the workweek, 10%

her finger. >> stay there. i shot my finger off. i just shot my finger. >> you can hear the dog. she was called to investigate a dog bite case. she is recovering this morning. president-elect donald trump may be close to identifying filling a key cabinet post to head the department of health and human services today. nbc news is reporting that he will tap representative tom price for th orthopedic surgeon. he is a reading critic of obama care. the race to chutes a secretary of -- choose a secretary of state is heading up. he will meet with senator bob core curve south carolina and expect to met with former governor mitt romney. it's the second meeting with trump and romney.

another candidate, former cia director david petraeus. he met with trump yesterday. he was forced to resign over an affair and handling of classified information. a passenger who launched a pro trump rant at fellow travelers is banned for life >> the airline took the drastic actions after his political comments went viral on social media. this happened on a flight from atlanta to allentown, pennsylvania. the video shows the man taunting, cursing and yelling at passengers who are clinton supporters. >> you can't hear me, don't talk. >> he went off on the plane for 15 minutes delaying the flight, came back on and said this is what you get for being a

>> the video has been viewed more than 2 million times. at first delta did nothing about the situation. the video earned the #boycott delta. now the ceo is apologizing and promising to give every passenger on the flight a refund. >> oh, boy. across america the driver accused in a deadly school bus crash in chattanooga is heading to court. johnthony walker is facing several charges. you remember he was behind the wheel of a school bus careened off the road, smashed in a tree killing six students. several others were hurt. this morning an investigation into a thanksgiving dinner linked to the deaths of three people. eight elderly people became sick after eating a holiday meal at the american legion hall in the san francisco bay area. three of them died. hospital officials say the victims all had symptoms consistent with a food-borne illness.

good morning. a mild start to our tuesday. by 9:00 a.m. temperatures are in the low 70s. breezy south wind makes it muggy this afternoon. by lunchtime closing in on 80. heading up for a high temperature around 83 degrees la above average and a few degrees shy of the record. the best rain chance is with a weak front moving through. count down is on. you have about 30 minutes to hit 275 southbound before it gets slow. right now everything looks fine at bird street. this is i-75. that is southbound traffic near fowler avenue. more people are here but no one is having to hit the brakes.
