3 are you enjoying winter so far? milwaukee sits under its first snow cover of the season....but that 'light coating' may not last very long.we've got your forecast for december 5th just ahead. but first, new at noon, word of a meeting today between members of jay anderson's family and the district attorney .anderson was shot and killed by a wauwatosa police officer in madison park earlier this year. year. what are they talking about? let's go live to cbs 58's jacob kittilstad with a report. 3 the family and their attorney is still in this meeting with prosecutors. right now we only know that they are reviewing dashcam footage of jay anderson jr's shooting. the family has been calling for that video to be released for months now. they've also

long.according to an injury filing, jay anderson jr was shot and killed june 23 at madison park. family says he was sleeping in his car an officer approached, leading to the situation... according to that document, the officer claims anderson lunged for a handgun when he was told to put his arms up. the attorney for jay anderson junoir's family says - from what he saw in the video - that is not the case. again, the video is not yet public. the wauwatosa police department withholding related records until the district attorney releases a final report. we do not know topic of this meeting but we expect the family to speak with us as soon as this meeting over. we'll have updates at 4 and 5 o'clock. stay tuned for that. live in milwaukee... jacob kittilstad... cbs 58 news. a wisconsin state trooper is recovering today after his squad was hit on sunday. the trooper was responding to an accident in washington county near slinger when another car slammed into his cruiser causing serious damage. the trooper is expected to be okay. the family in the other

and the lack of sprinklers and only two exits made the tragedy worse. edward lawrence for cbs news, oakland, california. among the 36 confirmed dead, 11 have been identified. the sheriff's office is asking families to preserve victims' dna, from hair brushes and toothbrushes to help identify the bodies 3 it's day five of the 'presidential vote recount' in wisconsin. at last check, the state elections with new information about the count today, but we expect that to happen later this afternoon.you can check the elections commission site....we've got it linked to our website, cbs 58 dot com. the recount needs to be finished one week from today. 3 meanwhile, a judge this morning ordered the state of michigan to start its recount. michigan was one of three states asked to count the election votes again by green party candidate jill stein. michigan state officials had tried to delay the vote, based

said the counting had to begin at noon today.a legal battle continues over stein's request for a recount in pennsylvania. the news certainly came as no surprise to milwaukee fans, but bud selig is going into baseball's hall of fame. that announcement was made over the weekend, and today, selig, the man who brought baseball ?back? to our city after the braves moved away, talked about his new honor. honor. cbs 58's kyle aevermann joins us live from miller park with a closer look at what selig had to say. bud selig already has a permeant home here outside miller park.but now his name will live on in baseball history. this morning the 82 year old spoke at a press conference.he was given a hall of fame jersey.he was one of ten voted into the baseball hall of fame by "the today's game committee" over the weekend.. it was 1970 when bud selig bought the seattle pilots and moved them to his hometown of

tenure with the brewers, selig served 22 years as commissioner of major league baseball. the second longest person to hold that position. as commissioner, he implemented important changes throughout the game. he also expanded the sport from 16 teams to 30.selig became the fifth of 10 commissioners to reach the hall.. something he says he is truly grateful for. 3 a rough landing in san antonio texas sunday has left one passenger with a minor injury. watch the united express plane touch down. suddenly the nose gear of the plane collapses...and the plane's nose makes contact with the tarmac, sending sparks flying. evacuated safely. the one injured passenger refused treatment for an ankle problem. she said she had to make her connecting flight. a celebration today in north da. dakota. -nats celebration- members of the 'standing rock sioux tribe' rejoiced over yesterday's decision by the army corps of engineers which essentially stops the builders of the 'dakota access oil pipeline' from running the line close to the tribe's reservation.protesters spent

(emotional) the company building the pipeline will now look for a new route. officials released a statement calling the army's decision "purely political"...and saying they did "nothing but play by the rules." 3 president-elect donald trump has chosen ben carson, one of his fo r nomination....to join his cabinet as housing and urban development secretary. carson, who's the first african-american named to the trump team, had turned down the 'health secretary position' reportedly because he didn't feel he had enough experience to run a federal agency, but he'll accept the housing position. position.house speaker paul ryan reacted with this tweet...ben carson is a great choice for hud. a shining example of overcoming poverty, he will put focus on 'dignity rather than dependence.'

it's a dazzling spectacle of christmas lights it returns tonight. tonight. i'm talking about the canadian pacific holiday train. it's become an annual visitor....14-rail cars all lit up for the christmas season. the train will be in the milwaukee area for two days. tonight, you'll see it at the amtrak depot in sturtevant at 5-25...then at 6-50 it's due to arrive at the amtrak station in downtown milwaukee. it will be in wauwatosa, hartland and watertown tomorrow.admission
