Player8hun, here's how you pinstall Minecraft versions manually:
1: Download the files you want.
2: Press WINDOWS KEY + R (if you're on Windows).
3: Type "%appdata%/.minecraft/versions" and press Enter.
4: Move the Minecraft Indev folder (example: in-20100223) to the "%appdata%/.minecraft/versions" folder you just opened.
Simple as 4 steps!

java.null.langpointerexception NEEEDS TO BE FIXED
most of these versions have a problem where it just crashes or shows an error saying "
java.null.langpointerexception".
i really want you to fix this error to make the old and classic versions work properly.
the problem is mostly caused by the new launcher that came in 2017.
the error "
java.null.langpointerexception" happens in indev and infdev.
