to a woman shooting her boyfriend inside a car. right now police are questioning the woman about the homicide. it happened last night inside a car on dolly, that's near lake mead and lamb. police say a woman ran to someone's house, asking them to call 9-1-1, saying she was involved in a shooting with her boyfriend. police later found the man, shot inside a car. he was rushed to u-m-c where he later died. the woman is in police custody. a homicide victim's family is struggling to come up with money to pay for the funeral, after a deadly

police say it happened last sunday near harmon and decatur. a family friend of the victim tells fox5... the family doesn't have the means to cremate dennis davis. and says the family doesn't know where to go for help. a go fund me page has been set up to help the family. if you'd like to donate, we have a link on our website fox five vegas dot com. in national news, the manhunt is on for a suspect wanted for killing a texas police officer as he sat in his patrol car. police posted this photo to facebook of an individual wante in connection with the shooting death of ben marconi. fox's kelly wright has more on the incident that happened right outside police headquarters.

behind the patrol car. mcmanus says: "when the suspect reached the driver's side door, he fired a gunshot toward detective marconi, striking him in the head." officer marconi was writing a ticket at the time... but authorities don't believe there is a link between the driver pulled over and the suspect. mcmanus says: "i don't know what they were stopped for and a don't believe they were related to the shooter." the shooter then sped away... driving through the police headquarters parking lot. authorities are this vehicle... a black sedan with chrome rims and dark colored windows. mcmanus says: "we are actively pursuing all leads and looking into all motives." the suspect is described as an african american man... about five foot - seven inches tall. mcmanus says: "we consider this suspect to be extremely dangerous and a clear threat to law enforcement officers and the public." the suspect can expect the worst punishment available... according to the district attorney... based on the potential charges. lahood says: "capital murder. the only two options with capital murder

(on-cam tag) while this incident comes after other attacks on police over the last several months ... authorities aren't drawing any conclusions yet about a motive. in new york, kelly wright, fox news.>> in more national news, protesters are clashing with law enforcement on the site of the dakota access pipeline in north dakota. around 400 protesters were on a bridge last night, when law enforcement formed a line to block them from crossing. that's when authorities used a water cannon and tear gas on the demonstrators, in the freezing weather. the group if protesting the 12-hundred long- long four-state pipeline that is being built to carry oil from western dakota to illinois. president obama touched down at joint base andrews overnight, as part of his last scheduled trip abroad. the president attended meetings in germany, greece and peru over the past few days. president obama's last day in office is january 20th, which is when

donald trump will be sworn into office. president-elect donald trump spent the weekend holding meetings with advisers to complete his national security team. one name still up in the air, new jersey governor chris christie. trump has not said if there is a place for him in his administration. trump met with former new york city mayor rudy giuliani over the weekend. the president- elect began filling key administration positions last week, picking alabama senator jeff sessions for attorney general and kansas representative mike pompeo to head the cia. mitt romney is being considered a key contender for secretary of state. trump is set to meet with former texas governor rick perry later today. a group of kids are sharing their feelings -- in letters to president-elect donald trump. it's part of an effort that's now going viral. as these kids share their concerns and hopes for the future with trump. annie andrews spoke to the mother who came

after listeria was found at one of sabra's manufacturing facilities. listera infections can be fatal in young children and people with weakened immune systems. more than two thousand thanksgiving meals are ready to go to families in need right here in our valley. it's all thanks to help of southern nevada and junior league of las vegas. volunteers packed up hundreds of meals over the weekend. the food was collected from food drives across the valley. the organizations have been teaming up for 30 years bring thanksgiving dinner to these families. you might not have to shell out as much this year... for your thanksgiving bird or christmas ham. both supplies have finally rebounded from outbreaks of the 20-15 bird flu and the 20-13 pig virus, that sent prices skyrocketing. americans consume some 46- million turkeys at thanksgiving... and 22-million during the christmas holiday. the price of a whole bird... is down about

last year. ham prices are down about eighteen cents from last year. a world war two veteran is reunited with his beloved chihuahua, after she disappeared from his front yard. "oh lola... i dont know how to thank you, give me a hug." 93-year-old roger leclair offered a reward for lola's safe return, but he didn't need it because a woman from chino, california found the dog on a field where she was coaching, and recognized the dog from a local news story. as you can see leclair couldn't be happier to have his one and a half pound teacup chihuahua, named lola back. the biggest names of music are honored for their musical prowess. already arrived in parts of new jersey. thick snow is blanketing the area, north of newark right now. over the weekend, the area saw four inches of fresh powder, and people jumped at the chance to get outside and play in it. the area could see more snow today. in new york, with a similar situation. heavy snow fell in berline and syracuse over the weekend, so much that people had to pull out their snow shovels. some cars even got trapped in the rising powder. over in michigan, people are dealing with the same scene. parts of michigan are seeing the first major snowfall of the season, and it isnt letting up anytime soon. some areas in michigan see more than 200 inches of

the year. a little closer to home, in california's high sierra, the snow is creating a traffic nightmare for drivers, but up on the mountain, its a skiers and snowboarder's paradise!
