fox5's kathleen jacob joins us now after doing some research... kathleen what should we know. alyssa.... there are actually a lot of easy ways to tell if what you're reading... or sharing on facebook is legitimate. you just have to know what to look out for. easy things to spot right off the bat are in the article title. while there are some news stories with outrageous titles that are real... most of the time... the more absurd... the more unlikely it is that it's real. if you're unsure from the title... click on the story and go to the actual website. you can look through other articles on the site to gauge what kind of source this i if there are a lot of articles about sex or celebrities... a lot of racy photos on the website... probably not legit. now within the articles themselves... look for major future disaster predictions paired with a date... while some of these are true... like the ebola crisis... end of the world predictions typically aren't. also... if the article is about a major disease being cured... be skeptical. these websites want to draw people in with news people want to hear... and unfortunately... a lot of that news just isn't true. another thing to look out for...
6:39 am
very misleading. check to see who conducted the poll... how many people were surveyed... and how the questions were phrased... if that information is hard to find... that's a good indicator that the poll is not reliable. other things to look out for... website name... a lot of times it will look like a legitimate news source but it'll be slightly misspelled.. or missing a letter.... this next story may sound fake... but it's totally true... a georgia man still doesn't know who won the presidential election... and he's o-k with it! kent justice has more. cc will resume shortly.

casino could be the way to go. there are a lot of casinos on the strip now but this is something more intimate and that could appeal to more players lucky dragon has two hundred and three rooms. four restaurants, and a tea garden. executives tell me they re expecting a large number of their guests to come from west coast cities with large asian communities. but that their facilities are welcome to all. and while you can't stay at the lucky dragon just yet... the official grand opening is scheudled for december third... you can already book reservations. president obama says he doesn't expect any major policy changes under a trump presidency. that's what he told world leaders at the "asia-pacific economic cooperation" summit this weekend in peru. the president spoke there... along with the chinese president... concerning the trans-pacific trade pact. obama defended democracy... saying it's more than just elections.... several hundred protesters marched in new

7:37 am
facebook is working... to better detect fake news... and to raise red flags about questionable stories. he also said the company wants to make it easier... for someone to report fake news. zuckerberg's comments are a shift... after he initially called it a quote crazy idea... that fake news could influence the election. and speaking of fake news... there are things you can do yourself spot a fake story. fox5's kathleen jacob joins us now after doing some research... kathleen what should we know. alyssa.... there are actually a lot of easy ways to tell if what you're reading... or sharing on facebook is legitimate. you just have to know what to look out for. easy things to spot right off the bat are in the article title. while there are some news stories with outrageous titles that are real... most of the time... the more absurd... the more unlikely it is that it's real. if you're unsure from the title... click on the story and go to the actual website. you can look through other articles on the site to gauge what kind of source this is. if there are a lot of articles about sex or celebrities... a lot
7:38 am
probably not legit. now within the articles themselves... look for major future disaster predictions paired with a date... while some of these are true... like the ebola crisis... end of the world predictions typically aren't. also... if the article is about a major disease being cured... be skeptical. these websites want to draw people in with news people want to hear... and unfortunately... a lot of that news just isn't true. another thing to look out for... polls...they can be very misleading. check to see who conducted the poll... how many people were surveyed... and how the questis were phrased... if that information is hard to find... that's a good indicator that the poll is not reliable. other things to look out for... website name... a lot of times it will look like a legitimate news source but it'll be slightly misspelled.. or
